Jazzköket Saluhall — Restaurant in Östersunds kommun

I was very disappointed to say the least. They got most things right mind you. The environment, the knowledgeable staff, the service... We waited outside in the rain for a table inside to free up, but it was not worth the wait in the least. Looking around everyone's food looked amazing. Large plates of delicious looking pasta etc.. but we were absolutely shocked when we received our vegan pasta dish and it looked about the same size as what we would serve our small children. There was nothing substantial about it, just about 10 rigatoni's in some bouillon broth and a spoon of capers. My partner and I we're absolutely starving . The only thing that filled us up was the delicious wine which made me quite red in the cheeks considering the bottomless pit that was my stomach. We laughed about the absurdity after. We wished we were not vegan so we could have enjoyed the beautiful dishes being served around us at the time. But alas we are not. So all in all, if you are plant based and having as much trouble as me when it comes to eating out in sweden, you're better off with an oomph pizza from ica, or an avo sandwich from espresso...

My partner and I booked dinner here as it was one of the best restaurants in Östersund. We had eaten here a few times before and the food was innovative and tasty. This time however we were very disappointed and left without having dessert. My partner had Beef and I had the French hot dog at The price I paid I expected something more than a small overly salted sausage with a bit of boring salad and burnt oily French fries that were black and cold. Lagerbaren, beside Jazzköket, is a great bar serving plenty of micro brewery beers. Went a Saturday and there was a DJ playing and 20 year olds getting into good mood. Friendly atmosphere. Great outdoor area (when the weather permits), although no heaters or such so it gets pretty cold even in summer. The beer on tap is a regular beer from a regular brewery, the beers by the bottle are something else! Pizza (wooden oven) made in the outdoor area, probably at least until 23:00-ish.
