We are new to the Jämtland region and got advised to go eat here. After all the stories we had quite high expectations. Unfortunately we were a bit disappointed. Perhaps for Swedish standards it's top notch, but we couldn't see it. The service and atmosphere are good, but the food is just okay.
However, the quality of the food definitely doesn't justify the high prices. We eat out a lot, but never paid so much. To us it seems that you pay for the "high end status" of Dalwhinnie, but that you don't find this back in the quality of the food. We had better food for 1/3...

Edit/addendum to address owner's comment: This is definitely the right restaurant, the bread I had was garlic bread with my salad.
While you also have a bar in your locale which makes the place quite noisy, the fact you've got a a waiting list to get in, and the prices for your flight sized meals match that of a stereotypical (if not aspiring to be-)...

And the chateaubriand I had was cooked as I asked, the sauce was decent. The cheese plate was also good but sadly the dessert was not homemade not fresh.
