Da Bello Enoteca — Restaurant in Göteborgs Stad

I made a mistake of going to this place on a Friday evening during their happy hour. We were told right away that those who were already seated inside would be given the preference and were asked to go for the buffet option for 199 SEK per person. Being a vegetarian, I found that the food was laid out poorly with no description of the food that were on the counters. There were several plates of cured meat for starters and three hot meals for the mail dish. As the hot meals had secondary heating using hot water, the pasta was dry, with bits not cooked at all. Sans mozzarella or paramesan cheese, the dry pasta looked desolate. The second dish was meat based (again no description on any on the dishes), and the third one was a rosti. We sat outside, had two servings of not so good food and left in a jiffy. If only they put in some care to treat the food and the guests. A twig of basil, a bowl of grated Parmesan, some description of the food etc. I gave a second chance on a Friday at 7pm for a pizza. And it was alright. I was complaining at work about entertainment being located mainly in the center of Gothenburg while overall feeling anemic and unspectacular. Additionally little can be found in other parts of the city and residential areas. Then a colleague suggested Enoteca Da Hello. We visited it today and we were very pleasantly surprised!

The whole experience to begin with, was nothing like we'd witnessed do far in Sweden. It was straight out of Italy and southern Europe. In other words, not just extremely professional, attentive but also radiated a tremendous warmth that you just don't find in Scandinavia.

Food was great (rather cheap too!), the environment fantastic, and... service way over the top! Totally recommended will definitely visit again soon.
