The Noodle Master, didn't have noodles.
We had reserved a table days in advance. We arrive, get seated and upon ordering we're told they're out of noodles. This was the first and biggest disappointment of the evening. We were prepared for the noodles which this place seems to be famous for.
We ordered from their non-noodle menu which is dishes served with rice. The rice had good texture, but no flavor at all (salt?). The following dishes weren't much better than our first impression.
C1 Deep fried pork in a special sweet and sour sauce
The pork was ok but didn't have much flavor. The sauce wasn't so special. It smelled alot of vinegar. Since the rice didn't contribute much, the dish as a whole wasn't better than a 3-/5
C4 Deep fried prawns with dried chili
Fried with the shells on which wasn't a big hit and required peeling before eating. The spices and chilis were sprinkled on the food but probably not cooked with it which, again, made the food lack flavor. 2/5
C5 Sliced beef in hot chili oil with vegetables
The beef itself didn't have much flavor and wasn't high quality. The dish as a whole seemed to be ok and the portion size was XXL. The bowl was full of oil. My friend who had it gave this dish a solid 3/5.
C7 General Tso's Chicken - Fried chicken in tangy sauce
Ok chicken with sauce. Weak flavors. Non-balanced. The chicken was the "all you can eat" buffet type of chicken. Those who had it give it 2/5.
To summarize: A noodle place which didn't have noodles even though we'd booked a table in advance. The food looks really good, unfortunately though one does not only eat with their eyes. The food had lots of oil and lots of spices, but lacked flavor. The atmosphere is nothing special, but didn't feel asian to be honest. There was a painting from India on the wall. I won't come back for the noodles and based on the reviews I've read, going to this place is like playing roulette. Small chance of winning and...
Read moreOn Friday I went to their restaurant at 19:00 and order one noodle and two fried dishes, in front of me only two people queue for collecting the food, I have no clue why turn to me order the food, they told me gonna wait 15 ~ 20 mins, I felt quite ok, and I wait and wait, they never give me the food. I waited 50 mins, since I pushed them 19:30, 19:40, they just remembered to cook my food in a rush, I ask them to refund and I don’t wanna wait anymore since I pay extra for the parking, and I told them I don’t want to pay twice for the parking, they ignore me and still trying to use many excuses to explain to me, I am so tired of their terrible service and I want my money back since they didn’t cook my food, but they didn’t want to give back so I argued with them like 10 mins, they finished my food and hand it to me, well, after went home to eat the food, all the meat was not fresh and noodle was not fully cooked, just they want to finish 3 dishes in 5 mins, what a service and taste! I will never ever go...
Read moreNoodle Master is hiding their vegan options by not naming them, but upon asking they will gladly provide you with a tofu-packed option - either stir-fry or soup. Their signature handpulled noodles (Biangbiang) are indeed a showpiece and if you take the stir-fry, you will get a nice bite to them, while indulging in a massive and tofu-packed portion. If you go for the soup, you will lose a bit of the noodle bite, but get a comforting, though simple, soup instead. All in all it’s clearly about the noodles and the dishes themselves are rather simple in taste, but there are plenty condiments on the tables. No need for Noodle Master to hide their vegan options, as they are in fact really worth...
