As my first visit to Port Arthur, it gave a warm first impression. The staff treated us in a way that was like coming to a friend's home. They also directed us to the fact that there was table service and places to order at the bar. The places were clearly separated from each other which we appreciated. Just our small group chose to sit to order at the bar, as we may take a long time to decide, and also wouldn't stay very long. But long enough for a delicious meal.
To the meals.
The meals we ordered were theirs.
Garlic bread that was topped with cheese, the bread had a perfect crunch to compensate with the perfect thickness. it was also served with an incredibly good tzatziki.
Then on to a prime rib burger that came with a nice soft brioche bread and that the meat was just thick and not too chewy. Added to that were the crispy generous french fries that were just the right amount of crispiness with a fun reminder of churros in their look.
We also ordered their own Fish n Chips, which had a tender fish, with a crispy, reasonably thick exterior. Which was served with a delicious aioli according to my friend while he scraped clean the dip bowl.
To my order which turned out to be a fantastic creamy, rich mushroom risotto. With mushrooms, wild mushrooms, oyster slivers that were generously topped with grated parmesan.
Our portions were generous but not overdone. So it was possible to eat without feeling that you need to roll out, but still be satisfied.
The location of the PUB/Restaurant is right on the other side of the river in a not too busy area. Within walking distance from lookout point, cozy little streets, boulevard, Swedish sightseeings. A nice quiet but lively area with very nice history around the harbor areas around.
Easy to get there by bus, but even more pleasant to take the local small ferries that glide between the nice different places in central Gothenburg.
Very worth a visit for the beer interested or food crazy person. But also a good one for family and small group of friends.
I will gladly return to curiously explore the beer, the food on offer.
And should also add that sometimes live gigs have the hook. So keep an eye on their web pages, or stop by and read the signs outside.
Thank you for this time Port Arthur for a very pleasant experience with you

While the food menu is limited to smaller bar snacks, what is offered is tasty and pairs well with the drinks. The focus here is definitely more on the beverages and the ambiance.
A slight downside might be the size of the pub; it's on the smaller side, which means it can feel a bit cramped during peak hours. However, this also adds to the cozy, intimate vibe that many patrons appreciate.
