The food was good but not exceptional, and the buffet did not feel like good value. It was awkward when the crew member who cut the slow cooking meat put a tiny piece of meat on the plates. I had to ask him: is that all? And then he reluctantly gave us another tiny piece. I understand the desire to reduce food waste but it is a 500 kr buffet. There was of course other food available as well. Then the server put us in the so-called medieval cellar, which in realty felt more like a dungeon. It did not feel cozy at all. We were given the impression that there was no other space available but that did not seem to be the case. My friends ordered lamb buffé, which is lovely. I wasn’t that hungry, so I chose the short rib dish on the menu, which isn’t that much cheaper than the buffet, it’s very disappointing, a. The food is served from a frying pan, which gives the illusion of piping hot, but it’s lukewarm and clearly not freshly cooked off the grill; b. The ribs are thickly coated with bbq sauce, like the one directly out of a package from the supermarket, masking the original flavour of the meat. Here is my recommendation if you want to eat here, take the lamb buffet option! Lovely ambience with the ruins in the backdrop and breezy in a summer evening....

Excellent food, marvelous service, and a fantastic experience. Highly recommend for an extraordinary culinary sensation in Visby.

Their salmon was one of the best we have tasted. The greens and bread from the buffet was included in the dish. The meat buffet (lamb, sausage, beef, pork, chicken etc.) was the real deal. Thank you Julius for your fantastic work!
