Nunnan — Restaurant in Gotland Municipality

The restaurant is located on the main square of town, so it’s a cosy location. Being a lover of Greek food, we ordered a Greek salad and Seafood stew. The seafood wasn’t of any good quality and it was dipped into a creamy sauce, extremely disgusting, after tasting it, we couldn’t eat it. Actually the waiter asked us, if there was a problem, so I told him the truth, but he didn’t really care, he knew that we wouldn’t come back anyway. So we decided to share my Greek salad, which wasn’t really fresh, the cucumber and tomatoes and pepper were no longer crispy, rather softy. I asked for olive oil and the waiter brought me a small bottle with almost nothing in it, so I practically squeezed the drops out of the bottle which not even covered the half of the salad. For our last meal in Visby, we wanted to treat ourselves and tried this restaurant. It was super nice outside, so we went on the terrace.

First thing I remember was that the gentleman who served us was the friendliest we met in Sweden. He was all smiles at all times, and kindly helped us understand the menu, since our understanding of Swedish was limited. Just that has a good part in the 5 stars review here.

I remember having the steak with mushroom sauce, and my dad ordered the tournedos, which he qualified to be "as big as an ancient road paver". So, the portions were quite generous, and delicious. We ended up scraping our plates.

We had a spectacular lunch at Nunnan’s. Jonathon was charming. Thank you! We started with calamari which was excellent Jonathan recommended the Pepper Steak with fries. It was scrumptious. We also had the lamp chops. They were perfectly prepared and you get 4 chops. Ate outside in the courtyard which was wonderful. At this time of year, the temps were very pleasant. Service was great for us, we arrived just before noon when they were pretty quiet. Only 2 staff front of house.
