Miki Rami — Restaurant in Karlstads kommun

Food was quite close to what I expected for the price range. I’d say however that the price range of 100-200kr is quite misleading. What I’d call a standard meal is closer to the 200-300kr (without anything to drink, might I add). Maki rolls were as good as ever and most nigiri was of the same opinion. The tuna however was a bit chewy and didn’t really “melt” the way it is supposed to.

Atmosphere is quite astonishing. Smooth lighting and dark colors that really highlight these subtle lights. All of this with some modern Asian inspiration. Quite a unique decor with good execution.

The service is where it falls however. The server seemed really out of it and didn’t really appreciate me as a guest/customer. More like an obstacle to simply serve and get rid off. He wasn’t rude in particular but just not interested in providing a nice experience for me. This opinion comes from comparing to a bunch of restaurants I recently visited here and there during the week prior.

I had dinner here recently during a conference in Karlstad and it was overall good but definitely with some room for improvement. The restaurant has a modern and minimalist feel and the service was functional and quick. I went for the signature Miki ramen (pictured) and really enjoyed it. The broth was rich and flavorful, the noodles had the right texture and the pak choi complemented the dish well. Now, I wasn’t such a big fan of the gyozas. The texture was a bit lumpy because of the mayo, so I would have preferred a cleaner and simpler presentation. The gyozas also lacked the depth I had with gyozas in other places but they were still ok....

Our family arrived at Miko quite late on a rainy, chilly day, a bit tired and hungry, just as they were getting ready to clean up and close. To our surprise, we were warmly welcomed with bright smiles and genuinely caring staff. Despite the late hour, they kindly prepared a delicious spread of ramen, udon, and California rolls, thoughtfully catering to our different tastes. We truly appreciated not just the comforting, flavorful food, but also the heartfelt service that made the experience...
