Both the food quality and the available menu was quite good, but the service was inferior. The personal seemed utterly uninterested in their customers. Orders were taken with a complete lack of interest, engagement and discretion. The staff seemed stressed and did not have the presence that is needed to be service-minded. For example, when we just had arrived, instead of leading us to our table, the waitress was pointing us towards the other side of the room with a bored tone. When she saw that her instructions were unclear, she repeated the same vague instructions. Another clear example of their lack of service orientation: The appetizer was served only a few minutes before the main dish! Why should our main dish stand waiting and be cold while we finished our appetizer? A 150-250 Sek/dish restaurant should be able to coordinate the dishes in a logical way.

It was generally hard to reach out to the staff and they did not come around during the night to ask if anything was needed. At one instance, it took 10 minutes to get into contact with someone from the staff although I tried to wave anytime someone looked our way. One from the staff sat down, looking at her phone instead of coming around when we tried to reach out. Apart from this, the personnel arrived and took away the candles from our table without any reason. When we finally decided to explain that we wanted to leave the waitress did not listen. In total ignorance of what we tried to say she just kept to her speech agenda telling us that we need to go and pay the food before 10 pm if we want to stay.

Yes, I complain about several small things. None of them is a large problem in themselves but they sum up to a colossal disappointment. A valentines day night should not be about looking after waiters and waitresses that are uninterested in doing their job.

The first male waiter we had wasn’t good at talking the order. Told us in Sweden they only speak Swedish but then goes to another table to speak another language. Also, if you want plain lettuce salad this restaurant is unable to do so. I figure the salads are prepared or bagged. The white fish had many bones in it; so I had to stop eating it. Plus, the male waiter was told two salads then forgot the other. It also took forever for our drinks to come out. The male waiter was rude to us travelers from America. Hamlet är 50/50 mellan att vara en bra restaurang som serverar bra lunchalternativ och ett lite billigare ölhak för den som vill ha sin stor stark efter jobbpasset, och detta märks. Lokalen är sådär, med inredning som inte ändrats sedan 70-80 talet känns det som och uteplatserna är ok, men också väldigt "enkla". Maten är oväntat bra för sitt pris (159 kr), men är också delvis förberedd, vilket kan vara en smula irriterande - då man förväntar sig att allt är nylagat och att tiden från beställning är mer än 10 minuter. Med det sagt så smakar det gott och är väl tillagat, om än lite småljummet, på riktiga ingredienser, med ett vinsortiment som var helt ok med. Jag kan dock inte rekommendera efterrätterna med en kladdkaka som inte är i närheten att vara värd 90 kr och det fanns inte jättemycket vegetarianska rätter hellee. Serveringen är svensk, dvs att servitrisen skiter i dig om du inte vill något och kommer inte fram och frågar om det var gott. Detta uppskattas av mig men är definitivt ett minus om man är van med det mer amerikanska fjäskandet. Så, mao lite blandat.
