First impressions of this place is super positive. I mean, wow what an awesome location. The decor is modern and super cool. Awesome decor inside and nice places to sit outside. Met up with a friend for drinks and the drinks were amazing. Top 5 in Malmö without a doubt. At first the staff member that took our orders was super friendly but when we hasnt ordered food by our third drink she became really unfriendly. Until at last she started to ignore us. The other staff memebers where still very friendly but she was really unfriendly even when we wanted to pay and leave. It wasnt a busy night, lots of places for people to sit and still kind of early so I am a bit surprised by her treatment of us. I would have understood it better if we were taking up a paying customers seat but that wasnt the case. Also we must have bought drink for about 450kr/person so I dont think we were exactly frealoading. Could have been a perfect 5 but Im going to lower that to a 4, not sure if Im coming back even if it was a cool place with...

The food surprised me in the best way. A mix of Latin American and Mediterranean influences, but not in a forced or trendy way. It just worked. Every dish we had was packed with flavour, well balanced, and genuinely satisfying. The portions were small, and the prices felt fair.

The only thing I wasn’t sure about was the wine list. It’s huge, almost too much. I’ve always preferred it when a place keeps it tight and focused, like their menu. Still, the selection will probably please wine lovers who enjoy having options, and the staff were helpful with recommendations.

All in all, Aster is a place I’d happily come back to. It doesn’t shout for attention from the outside, but inside it’s full of soul...

Fantastic food and cocktails (and wine) in an industrial, but cozy, setting.

I had some grilled octopus for starter. Amazing flavors with fun textures and nice plating.

For main course I ate a grilled spike with butter thrown potatoes and a smoked beurre blank with mussle stock. Well balanced flavors, nicely cooked fish with a sauce that gave that little extra. Hearty and filling.

For desert i had the stracciatella with olive oil and salt. Best ice cream I ever had.

The unscratched textile napkins, fun cocktails, music and the location are all nice surprises in this great but somewhat hidden treasure.

Room for improvement? Tasting menu for wine maybe? It's too many choices for me to...
