Best food I've had in a really long time. As a Greek, I am picky about any Greek food I eat and this is the best I've had outside of Greece (and better than some places in Greece.) The ingredients taste fresh, the flavors are authentic, and though I did not get the pizza, the rolls/breadsticks are made from the same dough as the pizza crust and they were delicious, too. (The pizzas I saw looked great.) I tried the Greek salad (with chicken), the stifado, the gigandes (beans), mixed vegetable and potato stew, tzatziki, and rolls; I would recommend all. It's also very reasonably priced (remember to bring cash or swish), one of the most affordable meals you'll have in Malmo or any Swedish city. I spent just about 20 kr total for two very large meals (about 10 each.) The service is excellent as well - warm, friendly, and incredibly generous. (Also very efficient.) I enjoyed it so much I came back the next evening and was recognized right away. Genuinely one of the highlights of a nearly...
Read moreA friend of mine suggested this place and I dropped by a Friday night, where the restaurant was completely full of people waiting for their order. It's a small restaurant with only a few tables as most people take away. I managed to order a moussaka and grabbed a seat. The guys working there informed me there would be a long waiting time, and that they don't take cards (only cash and Swish). They were extremely busy but I still got my order after maybe 20 minutes, and the moussaka portion was HUGE. As if that wasn't enough, I got a side of Greek salad, tzatziki and two pieces of freshly baked bread which tasted heavenly! Everything was really tasty and I got incredibly full! All that for just 149kr (including a 0,5L beer). The restaurant owner even came to my table and suddenly offered me a lollipop, and asked if the moussaka was good. This place deserves a huge shout-out: it's not cozy or anything and you will leave smelling like grilled souvlaki, but they now have a...
Read moreBest gyros in malmö, still far from authentic
Visited the place during odd hours (14.00 on a Friday) and ordered a pita-gyros without making any further specifications. It was alright, but coming from Greece, I was surprised at a few things. Don’t get me wrong this place is still miles ahead of other gyros that I’ve had in Malmö, but it also comes close enough to the real thing that it makes the few differences (in my mind shortcomings) stand out more.
-the gyros was not crispy and kind of chunky -Normally a pita-gyros wrap includes fries, this one didn’t. -Cucumber and feferoni are odd non-authentic additions. -Normally it is a “wrap” that you can even eat while walking. This one fell apart even as we tried to eat it at a table with cutlery. -tzatziki should be optional.
For a more authentic pita-gyros ask for the cucumber and feferoni to be omitted and fries to be added if possible. Maybe they could add this option...
