With its (for an Indian restaurant in this area) minimalistic and hipster interior design this newly opened place serves delicious southern Indian food that raises the quality considerably among its competitors. Them menu boasts a selection of severally local appetisers that I've never seen or heard of among the other Indian restaurants in town, as well as a selection of Indian delicate desserts. That they have placed the vegetarian options for main course before the meat tells that the owner has done their research of the local population. Due to its still modest lifetime they have yet to aquire a liquor licens, meaning that they instead have to focus on the quality of the food instead of selling beers - and it shows in the richness of flavours! Attention in interior design has even been paid to the bathroom, which in my opinion shows that this is an establishment with its eyes set on becoming a place worth of a whole Indian meal experience that you treat yourself to! Comes highly recommended - becuse you're worth it 😉😘

Covid: The restaurant was pretty empty at around 16.00 when I visited so I’d say you’ll feel really safe here. Service: This was really really good. The staff were very polite and took time to check if everything was ok. I’d give this 5 stars. They speak english too which is great!! Food: I’d give it 2.5 / 3 stars. I tried lamb biryani with rice and stole a few spoons of rice with lentils. It wasn’t as flavourful as I’d expected and the biryani was a little dry. Also tried a lemon drink that was more salty than anything else 😂 The quantities were adequate to satisfy an adult with an average appetite. Overall value for money is about 3.5 stars

My and my girlfriend were there on a Saturday late noon, we were fortunate to arrive before all the other people. Met well by the really nice girl who worked as a waitress and were quickly seated and taken care of. We both had butter chicken, mild for my girl and normal heat for me and it was perfect. A lot of rice was included in the price and we were even offered more ! We both had x2 butter naan bread which was absolutely delicious, warm and buttery. Overall definitely one of the best Indian places in Malmö and one of if not the cleanest Indian restaurant I’ve been to. Will be back to try other dishes, but definitely recommend !!

Ordered with a stated 30-45 minute wait time, on one of the common apps that also does taxi rides. Food came after 2 hours. 2 small kids waiting, after 90 minutes I just cooked them fish and chips. Crappy updates on the ordering app, no proper apology, no compensation (which, to be fair wouldn’t make any difference. I still would have left a 1 star review). I tried to cancel the order but the app does not facilitate that. So now I have some dinners in the fridge, I guess, on the upside. Maybe there was a personal tragedy in the restaurant to cause the delay, maybe there was a riot in the streets, maybe they are simply incompetent (I suspect so) but between this disaster restaurant and the app’s rubbish notification system, there was a complete absence of accountability for us waiting for so long for the order.

As for the food, I ate mine, the Karaikudi lamb massala. It was half cold, had 3 large pieces of lamb, 4 small pieces, swimming in a thin soupy sauce. It cost the same as lamb dishes from other restaurants in the city that I know are good. Sometimes you win, sometimes you lose, and today I lost.

Maybe this restaurant is good to dine in with. Maybe there was an unfortunate sequence of events that caused the FUBAR experience I had. Maybe they are just bad at what they do. But when things were going south, nobody from the restaurant or the app tried to do anything about it. All I can say from my one and only experience with South India Restaurant Malmö is to recommend you avoid it, and choose one of the many other Indian restaurants in Malmö that can deliver hot, tasty food within the time they say they can.

And finally, the review process on the taxi/food app is absurd. They only offer the chance to rate the delivery guy, who had nothing to do with the disaster order. So I gave them 1 of 5 stars (cos zero isn’t an option) but as there is no option to leave text review, they forced me to leave the review here instead. So screw...

We visited South Indian Malmö restaurant for dinner during our trip from Germany. I ordered Palak Paneer and my husband had Chicken Masala. Unfortunately, both dishes were extremely disappointing.

The Palak Paneer was the worst I’ve ever had, it was just watery green liquid with salt and spice, with no proper spinach pieces, onions, or paneer texture. It tasted like diluted frozen spinach rather than a freshly prepared curry. My husband’s Chicken Masala was similar, just watery gravy with red spices, and the chicken was not properly cooked.

Considering the prices and the expectation of authentic Indian food, this felt unacceptable. Another Indian couple dining nearby also had issues. When they raised concerns, the owner showed little interest and gave a dismissive response. We also noticed he behaved politely with non-Indian guests but showed clear attitude towards Indian customers.

There was no customer care at all ,nobody came to ask if the food was okay or if we needed anything.

If you want authentic Indian food in Malmö, I strongly recommend Delhi Restaurant (on the same street) or Paradise Restaurant. Both serve much better food and treat their...
