My partner and I spent a few days in Uppsala at a friend’s. One night we tried to stop by but unfortunately they had closed their kitchen at 9 pm (June). We came back the next night earlier and we were not disappointed with the wait. We tried several menu items: house red wine, the lion stout (I would best describe this as a lighter Guinness with more coffee infusion), also the Ethiopian chai. And for food, the multi veggie dish selection, vegan sambosas, the single chicken dish. For dessert the chocolate truffle (this is one item) and tartufu chocolate. All portions were sufficient and reasonably priced given the quality — we were mostly disappointed with the singular chocolate truffle and the chicken dish. Read moreYou are blown with a home atmosphere of this place once you come in! The place is run by family and you can feel that in small details - tidy clean design, cosy lighting and accurate menu.
In contrast to other fancy restaurants in the area, this place has its own unique face - it starts from welcoming staff who really knows about their food and provide an AMAZING service!
Food is really warming and delicious. The fact that you eat it with hands makes the whole meal as an experience (of course they are providing normal cutlery, but we would really recommend to eat it as it is supposed to - with hands).
There is no loud music, so you can really talk with each other and connect to the person while sharing food. This place is MUST visit while in Uppsala! We will...

Cozy and welcoming atmosphere with space for bigger groups as well as for more intimate dinners in smalle4 constellations. They have this dinner plate that is four different dishes, with a herby yoghurt as well, that is a great way to get to taste a bit of everything and also eat in a whole new way! Go for the spicy meat dishes if you opt for meat - they're amazing! Maybe the best part - they import beer from all over Africa! The first time I got to try Coconut beer from Ghana, and my favorite the Nigerian Durra beer.
Looking forward to a return trip and a chance to try their dessert coffee beer (yes, a real thing,...
