Edit: I feel that the quality of the meat has decreased the last two visits. Both two visit, we got a sirloin with lots of tendons so that nearly 1/3 of the meat couldn't be eaten. The other times we visited, we always had great meat and never left anything on the plate. Now, there is plenty of leftover "meat" left and the stakes are oversalted. Maybe they changed cook or supplier, but it's unfortunately not making us very happy with the food, especially considering the price has also increased.
Quality at Texas Longhorn can very a lot depending on where you eat and when but I think this bransch in Uppsala have often proven to be great. Their steak is always grilled perfectly (medium rare) and it is juicy and delicious, especially with the extras.
Their carne casada nachos is also amazing. It is pieces of sir loin with cheese sauce, bean sauce, jalapenos and onions on crispy tortilla chips. It is sold as a starter to share but works great as a main for one person. Only downside is that a couple of years ago, the same portion was sold at half price.
Sadly, their hamburgers and onion rings are not much to thank for. Dry, salty and expensive. It comes with the usual saying: you should never order a burger at a steakhouse.
It is wise to book a table here, especially during weekend nights (fri-sun). It often gets fully booked or crowded as it is a...
Read moreVisited Texas Longhorn in Uppsala and had a flavorful journey through their menu. We kicked things off with the 3-cheese jalapeño spread – a must-try! Rich, spicy, and indulgent. The homemade nachos came with four sauces; while most were enjoyable, the guacamole didn’t quite hit the mark. For mains, we sampled a variety: • Ugly American Burger: The meat was perfectly cooked and flavorful, but the bun was a letdown and took away from the overall experience. • Chicken Fajita: Moderately satisfying, good seasoning but nothing extraordinary. • Beltbuster Ribeye Steak (320g): This was the highlight! Juicy, well-seasoned, and served with creamy mac & cheese and corn – absolutely delicious. Drinks were also a strong point: • Patrón Margarita: Outstanding – bold and balanced. • Paloma: A refreshing choice. • Tried a few local beers which added a nice regional touch. Overall, a nice spot in Uppsala with a lively atmosphere and a menu that mostly delivers. A few tweaks could elevate the...
Read moreTexas longhorn is a classic - more or less the same across all locations as it a franchise. So if you’ve ever been to one this one is more or less the same
We did try some different things though - tacos and nachos rather than the more standard orders of burgers and various steaks
Food was pretty good but in general the place is fairly overpriced for the quality you get
One nice touch is the frozen glasses though - not just with beer but regular water as well
We were here in a quiet night in the middle of the week. Service was nice and friendly and good tasty
All in all all...
