I booked a table one month in advance for my 24th birthday for eight people. Being Brazilian, it made sense for me to celebrate my birthday here, and I was genuinely excited about it. I had been to this place before; the first time was perfect, and the second time was still good, although the Feijoada was spicier than I'm used to as a Brazilian (I understand that spiciness can vary depending on the region of Brazil).
During my first visit, I couldn't order Picanha because they mentioned that it needed to be ordered in advance for preparation. So, for my birthday, I decided to order the Tapas instead, since I wasn't sure who would want the Picanha, and I didn't want to trouble the staff.
Today, one day before my birthday, I called the number listed on Google. Silvana answered, and I spoke to her in Portuguese. Knowing that the Feijoada was spicy and some of my friends couldn't eat it, I asked if it was possible to make it less spicy, but said it would be okay if that wasn't possible. It was just a question, but Silvana made a big deal out of it and took it very personally. She raised her voice, saying that asking for such a change was basically asking her to alter her style, and if she didn't cook it that way, she would have gone bankrupt years ago. I managed to stay calm, even though she was rude over a simple question. Honestly, she even said more things, but it was so psychotic that it made no sense and my head couldn't even comprehend.
I then asked about the Tapas, as the menu on the website was unclear. I asked, "Since there are eight people coming, do you think two Tapas would be enough?" She became even more offended and rude, saying that if I didn't like the price, I should go elsewhere, and that people don't understand that preparing more than two Tapas is too much work for her. I never mentioned money; I was simply asking a fair question.
Look, I understand that everyone has bad days, but if you work with clients, you should at least make sense and try to be polite. I would understand if she wasn't Brazilian, but she is, and she's treating someone from her own country poorly. Imagine how she treats other clients.
I've decided to cancel my birthday plans and find somewhere else to go. The other staff members were sweet the last time I was there, and the food was really good. As long as you don't talk to Silvana or call the place, everything...
Read moreFirst comment should be: yes it is very tight inside, you will be sitting in the same table together with other guests. Food tastes good especially pre-ordered picanha was really success. lf you are gonna have the main dish, l recommend not more than two starters. We ordered way too much, and could not understand why chicken wings served as 2 portions, we ordered the starters as only 1 portion each. Anyhow, Pao de quejo, cheese balls nothing special, you can skip. Aipin Frito, fried cassava root was interesting, like potato but dry, fibrous plant- the side sauce served next to it makes the difference, nothing special again but good to try. We liked both Camarao aliho e oleo (scampi) and Frango passarinho (chicken wings). Caipirinha was good but we had better versions before, house wine (red) was good. So, the star of the night was picanha but it was very weird to try eating it with regular knife, they do not serve it with a proper steak knife 🔪😕 (Fries being served with maldon salt...
Read moreWe booked a table at 19:30 via online booking. We were there before the booked time but the restaurant was fully booked except one table for two. I went inside and asked that we booked a table and here we are. First the waiter said let’s wait I have your booking. Then she said you did not receive a confirmation, which we did and could show her. After that she said I’ll fix a table soon only wait. Then I saw two people in front of us took that table for two. After waiting she came with a small chair in front of the door and wanted to squeeze us between some other customers on a table. I asked her do you have a table and still she Insist that she has a table as soon as the other people leave. But nobody even finished their dishes. If the restaurant cant handle online booking why they put it online? And if they made a mistake why they asked us to wait and then squeeze us among the other customers? I don’t like how they handled...
