Kanon — Restaurant in Stockholm

Arriving at this fine establishment, I asked myself the question: what do I expect? And let me tell you, the reality surpassed the expectation. I was greeted with a very warm welcome and seated at our fine table by the bar (highly recommendable for the full experience) and served a perfect pint of beer. Off to a great start there. I ordered the Grillad rödräka, the Grillad gårdskyckling with Piriri, and my personal favourite, the Picanha. And let me tell you, it was a whole different taste journey. Starting with the Grillad rödräka, together with a much-needed beer (a tiny bit spicy), it was the perfect match. I then switched to a fine house wine that worked perfectly with the succulent and tasty picanha. But the whole picture couldn’t be painted without the service. I wished to get as much attention in my love life as I got in this fine establishment. At a certain point, you even forget you don’t know the people and start thinking you were always part of this dining oasis. For a very basic taste enjoyer like myself, I can only recommend this place and truly say it’s worth every Swedish penny I left there. Last but not least, a great Espresso Martini should be ordered to end the night on...

I waned to visit this for months and I was happy that I did that, although I have some points I wanna address…

-The atmosphere were really nice in the restaurant, the wine cellar, the coal grill and the olive trees when you just come in really gives you a good vibe, a bit smoky but I don’t mind it.

-Food was average considering the price the ingredients and the coal grill. I thought I would be impressed by different tastes and flavors but unfortunately It didn’t get up to the expectation. The meat was cold I hade to asked for reheating it. Pita bread is supposed to be hot and soft but It was neater. Excessive use of coriander in most dishes.

So I was disappointed when it comes to food.

Service was good until I got the bill and I hade 3 extra drinks that I didn’t order.

I want it to give a solid 3 but the dessert comes and save the night, I loved the baklava ice cream infusion.

A plus point to Tova Lo that was sitting in the table...

En mycket besviken upplevelse

Jag och min fru besökte denna restaurang med höga förväntningar, men tyvärr var hela upplevelsen långt under vad vi förväntade oss. Vi hade bokat via American Express, vilket vi har gjort många gånger tidigare utan problem på andra restauranger, men redan från början började saker gå fel.

För det första fick vi veta att de fyra dyraste huvudrätterna inte var tillgängliga för Amex-kunder, då de ansågs för dyra. Detta var en stor överraskning, eftersom vi har använt Amex-erbjudanden i över fem år och aldrig varit med om något liknande.

Därefter fick vi veta att flera rätter var slut, inklusive två av fem förrätter och tre av tillbehören som pitabröd, ris och pommes frites. Vi fick ändå beställa vår mat, men min fru fick en mycket liten kycklingklubba och jag fick ett lammspett som var ungefär 150-200 g – en väldigt liten portion för priset.

När jag började äta, upptäckte jag ett blont hårstrå i maten (både jag och min fru har mörkt hår). Jag påpekade detta till servitrisen, som frågade om jag ville byta ut lammet eller pitabrödet, men eftersom jag inte visste var hårstråt kom ifrån, bad jag om att byta båda. Servitrisen meddelade då att pitabröd var slut, och vi fick istället erbjudet en sallad som tillbehör – något jag inte kunde äta då jag är allergisk mot purjolök. Jag bad att få byta min huvudrätt till pichana köttet för 230 kr, men det nekades med motiveringen att det var för dyrt, trots att mitt lammspett redan kostade 150 kr. Istället erbjöds vi två efterrätter för 240 kr (120 kr styck), vilket jag inte tyckte var en rimlig kompensation.

För att göra saken värre såg vi att bordet bredvid oss, som kom efter oss och beställde efter oss, fick ris som tillbehör – vilket var något servitrisen hade sagt var slut för oss.

Vi kände oss generellt dåligt behandlade av personalen, som inte ville göra några rimliga justeringar eller erbjuda någon form av kompensation för att lösa situationen på ett bra sätt. Vi var de enda med en annan etnisk bakgrund i restaurangen och kände att vi blev behandlade sämre på grund av detta.

Tyvärr kommer vi aldrig att återvända till denna restaurang, och vi kan inte rekommendera den till någon. Vi kommer också att ta detta vidare till American Express, så att de är medvetna om hur denna restaurang behandlar...
