We recently visited this Viking-themed café, and the experience was a mixed bag.
Service at the Entrance: The café was completely empty when we arrived, yet the hostess didn’t exactly make us feel welcome. We asked for a table by the window, but she pointed us to a two-seater instead. We didn’t mind at first but asked where we could place our belongings. Her response? “Put them on the floor.”
We were quite surprised and politely asked again to sit by the four-seater table near the window. She sighed in annoyance and reluctantly said, “If you want, sit there.” I even had to explain that we wouldn’t stay long and wouldn’t inconvenience anyone. She justified her behavior by saying that there would soon be a rush of guests, which is why she was hesitant. Still, we eventually sat where we wanted, but it wasn’t a great start to the evening.
Waiter’s Service: Thankfully, the waiter completely turned things around. He was friendly, cheerful, and attentive, making us feel much more at ease. His positive attitude really saved the evening.
Food: • Lobster Soup: It’s definitely for those who enjoy unique flavors. It wasn’t bad, but it’s quite distinctive, so think twice before ordering it. • Salmon: Absolutely fantastic! Highly recommend it.
Conclusion: The initial interaction with the hostess left a bad impression, but the waiter’s excellent service and the quality of the food made up for it to some extent. However, the café needs to work on their attitude toward guests—especially when the place is empty. A simple welcoming approach could have made all...
Read moreI love this place! The food is always excellent, delicious, and filling. It's worth the price every time. I've been to Restaurant Eld 5 times through 3 different seasons and I'm never disappointed by the menus they offer. I hope they bring back the mushroom croquettes because they're so darn delicious, I crave them every time I walk past. The côte de bœuf is such an incredible dish to share with another person. Lots of food and highest quality as well. The side dishes taste amazing also! You also cant go wrong with the Venison Tomahawk; tender, juicy, the sauce is so delicious, and pairs perfectly with the sides that it brings. The presentation on all the dishes is a feast for the eyes and not just a lovely feast to eat! The oysters are soooo incredibly amazing as well! The burgers are also delicious and juicy for more casual dining. I also love the god themed cocktails; they're so refreshing and pair very well with the food. The bartender, Alexander, is excellent! The desserts are also a lovely and delicious blend of flavors. The honey cake is so tasty and for a lighter flavor the tart is also a good way to go. As for the mead tasting, it was also worth it! My favorite was the Jarls Brew, it's perfectly sweet and exactly how I would imagine mead would taste. Yana was also very kind and helped me pick out the flavors to try out. The one she recommended is the one I...

The menu was a journey of flavors—thoughtfully composed, beautifully presented, and utterly delicious. Every bite felt intentional, from the delicate starters to the rich, satisfying mains. There’s a warmth and depth to the food that’s hard to describe—comforting yet refined, bold without being overwhelming.
What truly elevated the experience was the staff. Friendly, attentive, and genuinely accommodating, they made us feel like honored guests rather than just customers. Every question we had was met with enthusiasm, and there was a relaxed, joyful energy in the air that made the evening feel like a celebration.
A special thank you to Chef Irene, who came out to greet tables and chat with guests. Her humility and warmth match her culinary talent, and it’s clear she pours her heart into everything she does.
