An absolute classic at beautiful Djurgården that offers a refreshingly different experience each season. 🇸🇪 The whole food and experience is very classic and modern Swedish. On the menu you can find options like Beef Rydberg, various sill (herring), fish and even meatballs. There are also seasonal dishes and dishes as specific Swedish holidays. If you want to try out, a good menu could be to order the Sill & Strömming bricka for starters, then try a classic meat or fish dish, not to forget the starter schnapps and why not finish with a Swedish Punsch? So many restaurants have given up the great Punsch tradition, but at least here you can get it - although would have been nicer to get a Grönstedts Blå than the most usual brand, but can't ask for everything :) Food is overall well made, don't expect too many modernities - but there are a few such as curry herring and varieties on the drinks menu. Service is good too, staff are polite and friendly, venue has always been in good shape when I been there over the years. May the tradition of Ulla Winbladh continue for future generations of locals and visitors!

We finally got to this restaurant which is mentioned in several guides as a place with the best Swedish meatballs. Overall, we won’t come back there even though the meatballs were delicious. The service failed so much!!! We were waiting for 40 minutes to place our orders and then another 1 hour to get our meals(!). Let me mention that it was not a crowded day. The behaviour of waiter was below expectations. He even answered to my colleague in a rude way. Last but not least, one of our colleagues ordered different meal than meatballs because he is vegan. He asked to replace one ingredient to the vegan one, when the food arrived he has noticed some other white sauce on the plate and just to be sure, he checked if the waiter made sure so the entire meal is vegan . It turned out not to be. So another 15 minutes waiting to replace the food.

After so many years visiting this place with friends and colleagues for dinners, lunch, wedding etc and each time tried hard to convincing myself to revisit the place and told myself,it will be ok this time! but it hasn't been anything but dissapointment ! This time it was their Rasism that took me down more than their horrible plates ! on arrival, we were offered a table beside the waitors station by a so called hostess! A table that shouldn't be pointed for any guest ! I would never want to go out, paying top dollar for a dog corner. she did see our faces and dissapointment but didnt even lift a finger to change it until I said, well if there is nowhere else then the station wall then we have to look for another place..This was totally unacceptable as the place was empty !!!!! both the front and the back was busy with 5 tables! she said we are fully booked! As we were celebrating a birthday occasion, I didnt want to make a fuss and kindly asked if there were any other table available but the reply was that all were booked ! it get worst ! we got a table after a lot of hostes unfriendly huff and puff in the cold tent with a small heater.we were exhausted and during the time we had our 3 course meal( a few hours) no other guest showed up and totally the opposite ! the picture shows the place on our arrival and leaving time with empty tables all over the place 😑 our waitor tried to turn it all around but we left the place with a bitter memory that I dont wish for anyone else. when leaving she didnt even say thank you or welcome back ! no Appologies or.. Shame on you unfriendly hostess that lie to the guests and upset them instead for welcoming and making sure their visit become a great experience!

Update Dec 2022: Back again for Julbord and it was a really good one. The lemon orange pickled herring was refreshing and triggered my appetite. This is still my favorite restaurant in Stockholm for Swedish cuisine. Been here 6 times already and it never failed me. All the dishes I had were very tasty, and this is my first recommendation to people who want to try Swedish food. Also the portions are pretty big, one main dish can be enough for one meal but I always take more because they are so good. I will continuously coming here at least every season to try out new dishes. Update Oct 2022: Just had their “wild week” menu and everything is amazing as always. The red deer and moose meats were so divinely made, preserved the umami of wildness, but removed the unpleasant odor of wild animals.

Jakob/ Jacob who was our super waiter made our day! We went on an adventure day tour with our dog to explore Stockholm this day and we were looking for a nice place to eat a late lunch and rest after our tour. We got a nice seat under a big tree surrounded by beautiful colorful flowers! Jacob immediately brought our dog some water without us asking for it! What great service! The staff here were all very nice but our waiter, Jacob was excellent! Of course the food was also amazing! We took the Veg dish of the week. It was “ramsök risotto with white asparagus” decorated beautifully with unusual freshly picked herbs and flowers you can eat! The fragrant of the flowers bursted in your mouth when you ate them! It was quite an experience! Would definitely go again!

One of my three favorite restaurants in Stockholm. Been a patron for over 20 years, a must place to eat at least once during our stays in Stockholm. The menu is varied with traditional Swedish dishes, seasonal menus and chefs occasionally get creative with modern takes on Scandinavian classic dishes that are truly upgrades to already fantastic dishes. The steak, which is marinated to perfection, is one of my favorites in the world(I’ve had steak in a lot places in 27 different countries). You can’t miss with the Swedish meatballs, purée potatoes and fresh lingonberries with pickled cucumber. A seasonal version is made with reindeer, a favorite protein of the Swedes, sorry Rudolph, and is a must try.
