After so many years visiting this place with friends and colleagues for dinners, lunch, wedding etc and each time tried hard to convincing myself to revisit the place and told myself,it will be ok this time! but it hasn't been anything but dissapointment ! This time it was their Rasism that took me down more than their horrible plates ! on arrival, we were offered a table beside the waitors station by a so called hostess! A table that shouldn't be pointed for any guest ! I would never want to go out, paying top dollar for a dog corner. she did see our faces and dissapointment but didnt even lift a finger to change it until I said, well if there is nowhere else then the station wall then we have to look for another place..This was totally unacceptable as the place was empty !!!!! both the front and the back was busy with 5 tables! she said we are fully booked! As we were celebrating a birthday occasion, I didnt want to make a fuss and kindly asked if there were any other table available but the reply was that all were booked ! it get worst ! we got a table after a lot of hostes unfriendly huff and puff in the cold tent with a small heater.we were exhausted and during the time we had our 3 course meal( a few hours) no other guest showed up and totally the opposite ! the picture shows the place on our arrival and leaving time with empty tables all over the place 😑 our waitor tried to turn it all around but we left the place with a bitter memory that I dont wish for anyone else. when leaving she didnt even say thank you or welcome back ! no Appologies or..
Shame on you unfriendly hostess that lie to the guests and upset them instead for welcoming and making sure their visit become a...
Read moreWe had dinner at Wärdshuset Ulla Winbladh and were truly impressed by the beautiful, serene location and the well-maintained gardens—both indoor and outdoor. The setting is peaceful and elegant, and cleanliness throughout was outstanding.
However, the dining experience fell well short of expectations. With the exception of the head waiter who welcomed us warmly, the entire service staff appeared exhausted and disengaged—no smiles, no warmth, even when tipped. This was consistent across tables, not just ours.
The food, unfortunately, was very disappointing. The bread was cold, hard, and clearly not fresh. The butter was so firm it crumbled. I ordered the poached cod dish—what arrived was a bland, thawed-tasting fillet with no sauce, just a sprinkle of salt and a single dill sprig. It was served over bland, clearly frozen nano-sized shrimp and crumbled egg bits, accompanied by a side of plain boiled potatoes—which, ironically, were the best part of the dish.
My friend ordered the herring and found it barely edible. With only nine main dishes on the menu, we expected focus and quality. Sadly, what we received was far below standard for a restaurant of this reputation and price point.
A beautiful venue—worth a walk around—but not worth dining at unless major changes are made to food quality and...
Read moreNormally when I go to djurgården I’ll go to Skroten (which is a little homy family restaurant) but this time I think to try something “better” because my parents came to visit me in Stockholm, so i brought them to Ulla. A HUGE MISTAKE. 🤦🏻♀️🤦🏻♀️
The staffs were so overwhelmed, me and my family waited for 15min in the rain to be served. The lady who served our table looked at us like we own her a debt.
My parents would like to have warm water instead of cold water to drink, she looked at us like aliens and brought a tea pot of hot water without tea. At the end it appears on the bill 50sek for this pot of hot water. This never happened to me anywhere in Stockholm, nor in any Nordic country. We should have bought our own kettle to this restaurant 🙄SHAME!🙄
Let’s speak about the food, I ordered my dad herring for him to try, it arrived the table like burned crisps. He didn’t complain but I can hear the crunchiness when he chews.🤦🏻♀️ the meatball was ok but really it will be a huge shame if a swede can be even wrong with meatball 🤦🏻♀️
With all that said, I deeply regretted that I didn’t bring my parents to Skroten, Ulla left my parents the impression that Swedish food is bad and expensive and I’m starving here (which is not true!)🤦🏻♀️🤦🏻♀️ will never go back to this...
