Time visited: tuesday evening, from 18:30 to 21:30. Corona-safe distancing: nope, not even close. It was crowded, uncomfortable crowded.
Food: Ordered: woodburned oven pizza It was ok, prices were fair for what you got. They have their woodburned oven pizzas which I guess were ok for the price in this location. Would I spend this kindof money here on pizza again? Probably not, I would go to any of the other good or great pizzerias for less money and better pizzas.
Enviroment: If you go here when its dark, the place loses all appeal, as the breathtaking view out on the river is lost, and it looks more like a weird industrial... food... place... with large windows. Also, if you want to talk or even hear your own thoughts, go somewhere else. The music was obnoxiously loud. Unfortunally I also (unknowingly) decided to go when there was some kind of popquiz happening, so the obnoxiously loud music got interrupted by an even more obnoxiously loud DJ shouting out popquiz-questions which made any and all conversations completly drowned out. Then they decided to play some music backwards as part of the popquiz, and nothing made me feel old when I listened to that racket, as I sat there wondering: am I to old for the newest popmusic that has been released? This just sounds like some industrial noise which I should be wearing earprotection for. For fun I measured the soundvolume where I was sitting, and it was about 80-90dBa.
Staff: Nice, good staff.
Will I go there again? Not if I am not forced, I can get better enviroment at almost any other restuarant in Umeå, including Sibylla, and the food doesnt have that high quality to compensate.
What would I change? Lower volume, better spread of tables, perhaps a more silent (I know its impossible to have a silent place in a restuarant, but perhaps not liberally apply every speaker to every corner of the restuarant and set them to max volume), see if there is some way to not burn the underneath of the pizzas to charcoal in the ovens, or atleast cook the entire pizza and not have charcoal and then cold on the top.
Summary: Ok quality food with okish prices (ranging from 100SEK to 500ishSEK), dreadful place to go to if you want to do something else than eat, get plastered and...
Read moreI recently dined at Sjöbris, and I have mixed feelings about the experience. The restaurant's ambiance is pleasant and inviting, creating a nice atmosphere. However, the food quality, especially when it comes to their pizzas, leaves something to be desired.
I ordered a pizza, and while it had a good flavor, the problem was that it was overcooked, with a noticeably charred bottom. Unfortunately, this wasn't an isolated incident. It appeared that most of the pizzas being served suffered from the same issue, indicating a consistent problem with their cooking technique.
Considering the prices they charge, I expected a higher level of attention to detail in the kitchen. A few burnt spots on the crust can be forgiven, but a charred pizza bottom is neither appetizing nor acceptable. I would strongly recommend that the restaurant reevaluates their pizza preparation process to ensure a more consistent and enjoyable dining experience.
Despite the pizza issue, I have to commend Sjöbris for its appealing ambiance. With some improvements in the kitchen, it could be a...
Read moreWe wanted to get the experience of dine in a boat. It was congested. When it’s crowded and people talk very loudly it is not a quiet place to eat peacefully. People with claustrophobia and motion sickness have to be careful.
Food was not value for money. Had a different taste. But portion was small and not delicious so as to match the price. There are other restaurants in Umeå which provide delicious food for better prices. Burger bun was cheap. The crust of the pizza was burnt and useless. The provided water bottle, no cold or lemon or mint or anything. Just normal.
If they charge expensive, it’s appreciated if they could provide an exceptional quality.
Service staff was good. But they had only one English menu.
We had trouble with the sun rays directly fall into the face and high voices of other customers as the space is limited.
This is only my personal experience. My preference.
Not a...
