Unfortunately, the food is not consistent. While the really expensive filet was great both times we visited, the hyper-expensive Tomahawk was most likely frozen, and definitively not cooked well. It was really inedible. Wait times are almost always very, very long, even when the restaurant is almost empty, despite the abundance of personnel, and some of the staff is really kind, while others are exactly the opposite. When you ask this kind of price, everything should be top-notch. Considering that there are options a short drive away that cost 30 to 40% less and offer the same quality, or even better, and the owners are kind and dedicated all the way and all around, I suggest the owners step up their game, and make sure everyone is on top of service, and more importantly, what is being served. We are rarely dissatisfied, and we never complain or ask for our money back when a dish is terrible, but it is also extremely rare to have flaws in a restaurant with Michelin-starred restaurants. I doubt we will go there again (we ate there a total of four times in a month.) We will be much happier to drive 30 minutes in the middle of wonderful nature and villages and eat in places such as Alte Buendnerstube Stiva Grischuna in Disentis, where we feel welcomed, spend less, and eat excellent food without any flaw (so far.) I really encourage the owners to work on their flaws: quality consistency, wait times, and one of two staffers that are below the standards for a location like this one. Prices are also really steep, even for Switzerland. They are located in a prime location, they should bank on...
Read moreWe ate at Biselli the last evening we were in Andermatt and wished we had tried it earlier. The service was amazing, all the staff were extremely friendly. One thing I would like to mention is that not only did serve free tap water, the host actually offered before we asked, this was a pleasant surprise. The table came with bread with a delicious pesto/garlic butter and we were offered a complementary appetizer, some sort of egg on toast creation, it was nice. For the main, we had the pan-fried monk fish and the veal steak. While extremely delicious, we felt the entres were light on side dishes. The portion of fish/veal was good but light on potato/veg. For dessert, we had the chocolate mousse and the blueberry mousse tart. They were amazing.
I would have loved to try the three course wine pairing but we were exhausted from skiing and it wouldn’t have been fully...
