I ate here while staying in Brig a few nights. I was absolutely gob smacked by how delicious the food was. The presentation was outstanding, and the quality of the ingredients shone in everything I ate.
Location: it can hardly get any more central in Brig. It is in a section of the beautiful Stockalper Palace that has been very competently and tastefully renovated. I liked the atmosphere of the place and we had a nice stroll before and after.
Presentation: I am not one to take pictures, but even if I had been I am positive I wouldn't have taken any due to digging into every dish the moment it was politely and professionally laid in front of me.
Food: I had a full Fleisch Wintermenu, and I have not regretted a single bite. The dishes were very competently composed, and as a result they were both filling and tasty, but also nice and varied, offering a selection of vegetables, salad and also fruit that really compete with the carbs, meats and cheeses in terms of flavorful-ness and satisfaction. As a tiny side-note, I was mildly worried by the amount of dairy/butter that the food might have had, but in the end it was all incredibly light to digest as well.
Wine: we were advised to try a bottle of local wine, the Humagne Rouge. It was a savvy choice, and a lovely wine. Structured but not overbearing, and with a very interesting and complex bouquet which opened up nicely while we were eating. Different from the wines I am used to, in a positive way.
Staff: my Swiss German is lacking to say the least, but the staff is genuinely happy to help. It is hard for me to decide whether the service was more caring and affable, or more professional, because they really managed to dance the line between both, and you genuinely wait for their return to your table with a smile. Effortless helpfulness all around.

Read moreThis is hands down one of my favorite restaurants ever. Everytime I visit Brig I try to have dinner here once. The zweierlei cordon bleu is out of this world and most definitely a big tip! It's the reason I come back every single time.
Not only the food is great, the people are as well. Very friendly and inviting. The location itself is very cozy and intimate.
A big plus for me is their great whisky collection. They have a very interesting variety of exquisite single malt whisky and also some great knowledge about it.
