The food was good until the main platter where we both had to wait far too long, and was cold❄️. That is totally un-acceptable for the price of $140 at an establishment like that, and then the main platter wasn't even good as the meat felt like rubber. They also had a side platter of apricot sorbet which was only given to the adults in our group and the adolescent with the adult menu was not given a sorbet because there was alcohol. After asking for a non-alcoholic counterpart, they did deliver just the sorbet but the others had melted so we finished with melted alcoholic sorbets and 1 other sorbet.
Another problem we had was timing, the kid menus were offered there plates way before the adults were given their food. This is bad because that ment that the kids had to wait too long for their dessert.
After all the trouble, the kids and adults were given desert, we had specifically asked for a candle on one of the deserts for the kids since it was her birthday and they gave the deserts to the wrong kid and forgot the candle. After another while they finally gave the deserts which were really tiny for the kids but fairly big and good for the adults.
Through all the peril they decided to give free drinks as a means to apologise so we ordered teas, coffees and others. Then as we were getting our drinks served, they spilled the coffee on one of our guest's jacket and DIDN'T EVEN APOLOGIZE. You would think that was the end of it but even at the bill they forgot 2 adult menus, which we pointed out to them which we did out of pure honesty and nothing else.
My final verdict is that the food was pretty good (until the main platter), the service was absolutely horrendous to the point where we could relate it to Rachel's service from Friends, and the price was way to high for what it was. The waiters were at least nice to the kids and mostly apologetic.
We were disappointed and would probably never return to...
Read moreThe best fondue that I have ever had across Switzerland, Germany, and Austria.
We got the truffle fondue and the garlic fondue. They came with bread, and we asked for sliced meats and cournichons. To go with the fondue, we got a bottle of the blanc des reines. The texture was perfect, along with the seasoning. The one downside was that there was no way to control the heat of the flame, so the cheese burned on the bottom and bubbled a bit. Even with this, we had plenty of time to eat most of the fondue.
Service was wonderful! Our waiter was very polite, and remembered my husband and sister in law from the last time they came. We came quite close to closing time (2pm), but we were able to eat until we were done. No rush at all.
Atmosphere is warm and cozy like a mountain lodge, but also a bit formal. It was perfect for a smart casual lunch.
I will be dreaming of this place for a while. It is not to be missed...
Read moreThis bistro is a jewel for foodie like me and the husband. We had la Glareyarde for two (swiss hot pot, their specialty) with Swiss Gamay wine. This dish is enough for 2 people. The cuisine includes salad, gratin, beef, sauce for two plates and broth. We are so happy with high quality of beef from Switzerland, France and Ireland.
The broth for hot pot is made of beef oxtail, tomato, celery and other vegetables. UMAMI!!! 美味。 We are in heaven.❤🇨🇭 This is a place we will...
