I ordered the lasagne dello chef, expecting something homemade or at least made in-house. Unfortunately, it was immediately obvious that it was a pre-packaged product, identical in taste and texture to the frozen lasagne from any discounter supermarket. The presentation did nothing to hide it, and the taste confirmed it: bland, overly processed, and microwaved to the core. It’s hard to justify calling it a "chef’s" dish when there was clearly no real cooking involved. The owner might be friendly, but it's obvious there's no real gastronomic background here which you can feel in every aspect, but im not even going to bother about that. If you’re expecting authentic or thoughtfully prepared food, I’d recommend looking elsewhere. A real letdown, I wouldn’t have bothered writing this if the food hadn’t been this bad.

Nachtrag 2025: Das Essen ist seeehr lecker. Leider gibt es NULL Flexibilität bei der Bestellung (da ich auf Peperoni allergisch reagiere), die Bitte nach Zucchini gemäss Speisekarte - Fischteller zwei Positionen unter meinem Fisch - ist nicht möglich. Dennoch war das Essen wirklich wunderbar. Noch nie so leckere Kartöffelchen gegessen. Die Bedienung scheint nach wie vor unbeholfen. Aber wenn der Ansturm vorüber ist und man mehrfach bestellt hat, bekommt man ganz viel Herzlichkeit und Lächeln geschenkt. Das Prossecco wird nun zufriedenstellend gefüllt. Dankeschön. So kommen wir wieder! Bezahlen MUSS JEDER IM Restaurant. Am Tisch ist dies nicht möglich. Wenn man NUR trinken möchte, wird man ins Café linkerhand gesetzt... ein wenig weniger einladend gestaltet. 2023: Tolle Position! Direkt am See. Herrliche Sicht auf den Lago di Lugano. Die Swiss Grand Tour befindet sich in Blickkontakt auf einem Steg. Das Essen schmeckt und kommt rasch auf den Tisch. Die Teller sind sehr hübsch arrangiert! Die Bedienung ist herzlich, jedoch wirkt sie ein wenig unbeholfen. Schade, dass das Glas Prosecco auf den Millimeter bei 1dl eingeschenkt ist, es erweckt den Schein von Knausrigkeit!?

I came here in the summer when it was busy, yet I got a quick and polite service. My lasagne was so delicious. Especially with the free bread :) and my glass of water was always being filled up when I asked. They gave a good sized portion and it filled me up for the rest of the day.

As local, I was really disappointed by this restaurant and fully understand the low notes/ points received. The position of tye restaurant in Morcote is beautiful with a wonderful view of the lake, the waiter with the service was kind and friendly, but the food , at best sufficient...the Wienerschnitzel was dry and hard. Furthermore, the house specialty , the risotto, was too much coooked and had very little taste, despite tye addition of some pieces of grana padano aiming at improving the presentation rather then the taste ( bad grano padano). At least the polenta with rabbit meat was good and to try. The quality price ratio is however too low to recommend this place , which should really improve. In the meantime, choose the other close...

The food was ok, but somehow the service personnel had a bad day. He tried to be friendly, but too many things went wrong today: Forgot Aceto, brought Risotto instead of Polenta. As well, instead of asking for coffee/dessert, he put the bill on our desk because his collegue mixed up the table numbers. On top of this, the bill was wrong by 13.-

Maybe it wasn't his fault, but he could have been a bit more charming.

We won't come here...
