Husband and I searched for dinner for a while on google but walked past this place on the way to our BNB. So we decided to try it out. The place wasn't busy at the time, but most tables had reservations, so I can only assume we beat the dinner rush. Being only English speaking visitors, the menus can be a bit overwhelming at restaurants, but our waiter was so kind and helpful with explaining items and clarifying on any questions we had. He was patient and brought us a small starter to snack on while we were looking. He recommended a sweeter white wine that I loved after asking some questions. We both started with the green salads, very simple but yummy. My husband got the chefs choice spaghetti with mussels and clams and I ordered the homemade lasagna. Both meals were so delicious. You are also served some bread before meals arrive as well, which was also yummy. We ordered dessert as well, he had a scoop of vanilla ice cream, simple haha, and I tried the Tartufo and it had some fruit garnish and was amazing. At the end of dinner he brought us little lemon cello shots to finish! The restaurant vibe was cozy. Photos all over the wall of politicians and athletes with the owner and chef (I believe?), were a joy to browse. Overall, was an amazing...
Read moreWe booked dinner here for New Year’s Eve, hoping for a special night. “Special” is definitely one way to describe it.
When we arrived, we were left standing awkwardly for 20 minutes. For the first 15, the staff seemed to have mastered the art of ignoring customers.. no greetings, no updates, just us questioning all our life choices.
The special menu was all meat, which was a surprise to us, mostly vegetarians. We asked the waiter if we could order from the regular menu, and after what seemed like a small negotiation with the chef, they “graciously” allowed it. Would’ve been nice if someone mentioned the no-vegetarian-options thing when we booked, but hey, surprises keep life interesting, right?
Then came the food. I ordered the tagliatelle with mushrooms, and wow! it was so salty it could’ve seasoned an entire ocean!! I couldn’t even swallow it.
The waiter apologized, which was nice, but they left the inedible dish on the bill. They did throw in some free drinks, so at least we could wash down the disappointment.
All in all, this place could use a crash course in customer service. A little effort and some attention to detail would go a long way.
Until then, maybe bring your own snacks,...
Read moreProbably my Worst Pizza Ever!!
A family meal of 8 covering three generations. The children’s meals were timed to come with the mains although informed to come asap. Children were starving. We asked again once the starters came but by then too late anyway. Then when the children’s food did come, along with our mains they had forgotten to bring one as they misunderstood the order was for two omelettes, one without mushrooms. The seafood salad tasted like it came out of a tin. Chewy and covered in oil. The pizza was literally the worst I’ve had ever. It was loaded with stuff but was so wet that in the end we just had a soggy mass on our plate. We could not cut slices to be picked up by hand as it all just fell apart. The only part which stayed solid was the crust. To top this all off the prices are like in Zurich. A pizza is between 21-26 EUR. Frankly I don’t know how this place has...
