Restaurant Crystal, À La Carte - Jungfraujoch
Swiss Lunch at Swiss Alps Today, we’re going to have authentic Swiss cuisine, 3,454M high (11,333FT).
We’re going high up to Swiss Alps on Gondola. 🚠 🏔️ It takes 15 minutes to climb by Tri-Cable Gondola. Views are truly stunning. Everywhere you look, gorgeous mountains with snow on tips.
When you get all the way to the top of the mountain and go visit multiple places available at the mountain, be sure to bring warm clothes. It is very cold outside. Inside they keep warm.
Some of Swiss menu options offered at Restaurant Crystal, À La Carte:
Schweizer Käsefondue (Swiss Cheese Fondue) - CHF 28.50 Rösti Crystal (Hash browns with bacon) - CHF 26 Variation von der Lindt Schokolade (Lindt Chocolate Variation) - CHF 14 Gletscherwasser (Jungfrau Sparkling Glacier Water) Gletscher Coffee (Glacier Coffee)
All these menu items I personally ate and it was magically delicious. I didn’t finish all of it, because of how big the portions were.
Let me say this, for stunning views as you enjoy your meal, not as expensive as you might expect. Service was exceptional and staff are friendly and more than happy to help you explain any menu items you need assistance with.
As cliché as this might sound, this restaurant serves authentic Swiss cuisine. What I mean by that is that they’ve sourced most of their ingredients locally, including some water that’s sourced right here, at this truly, breathtaking - Jungfraujoch Mountain.
Because the views are so spectacular, like myself, guests take their time eating as they get carried away with looking at magical views.
I highly recommend...
Read moreAbsolutely the worst dining experience I’ve ever had in Switzerland, which completely ruined my view of the country.
The past few days have been pleasant until we unfortunately chose this restaurant. First, we were left waiting over 20 minutes just to place our order, even though we repeatedly asked for assistance. The staff blatantly ignored us and prioritized customers who arrived much later. The most unprofessional of all was a large, bald man who was especially rude.
After finally getting our order taken, we waited another 40 minutes with no sign of our food. It turns out they had completely forgotten our order and only brought out one dish. Imagine our frustration—waiting for over an hour, only to receive just one meal. When we approached the staff to check on the order, the same rude, bald guy aggressively insisted it wasn’t his fault and dismissively told us, “If you want, I can enter it into the system again, but you’ll have to wait even longer.”
I used to have a good impression of Switzerland, but this restaurant has certainly ruined it. If you want to save your time and sanity, avoid this place...
Read moreFood and view are great, however, the waiter Mikael/Micheal is appallingly rude. Constantly walked away before we could finish ordering, had no sense of courtesy in terms of customer service, was crude, and was often heard backchatting to other customers in the restaurant. One notable instance was when a customer complained about the narrowness in walkway between tables, particularly his, he was met with a simple reply from Mikael, “Get use to it, it’s not a problem”. So cringeworthy and we felt really bad for the customer. When it came to paying the bill, it was impossible to get his attention as he seemed to avoid the area (he was waiting on our section), so we made our way up to the register where he met us with a laugh (probably embarrassed as his coworker had to fetch him). He then proceeded to give the entirety of our change (2 Swiss Franc) in 10 cent pieces. We enjoyed the restaurant but Mikael really dampened the mood/environment with his arrogance and made it really unenjoyable. Quite frankly, he either needs to be sacked or moved to another department where he is not dealing directly...
