Food great Cocktails great Ambience 1 (too cramped, too crowded, too noisy) Service 🤦🏻♀️
This is the 2nd time I visit Suahoy. First time was lunch time (much better experience) this second time, I tried for dinner on friday night (bad bad idea)
First they mixed up our order. We ordered cocktails as apéro while me and my husband deciding what we’d have from the menu. After quite a while there was another couple sitting next to us. So we continued and placing our orders. We ordered 2 entrées , 5 main courses with white wine. The table next to us also placing their apéro order after us (sorry I’m not nosy but it’s hard to not notice since our tables were basically only 10 cm apart)
Soon after, the table next to us already got their apéro while we were still waiting… waiting… and waiting for our own apéro. Me and my husband were joking around and said “well as long as the apéros come before our entrées 🤷🏻♀️“ and that’s when our entrées arrived… followed by our white wine…and finally after we savouring the entrées and the white wine, our apéro came… 😅
oh and it’s not finished yet… so basically they gave our order to the table next to us, we were the one who had to wait and… because they finally realised they gave wrong cocktails to the table next to us, they made them a new one. And me and my husband? We just get the “sorry we mixed up your order 😊” not even any courtesy - here’s free cocktails or hell… I would had been happy if they offer free coffee as a kind gesture. I understand it’s a common mistake but I mean just for two of us we spent 290chf in there… I expect better! So how’s that for a service?
We also notice some table shuffling for quite often during our dinner time. Clearly the restaurant was overbooked. It was definitely too crowded and cramped, you can’t even speak in your normal voice so that the person across the table can hear you. So yeah… does the good food and cocktails worth all of this trouble? I hope the managements will do...
Read morePROS: Potrine de porc de jussy (gaeng hung lay moo sam chan) and entrecote de boeuf (seua rong hai) were flavored, seasoned and cooked. Menu is different than usual Thai restaurants in geneva which is good to try authentic cuisine. cocktails are nice and refreshing SERVICE: Waiters are really warm and welcoming, quick service. Only waiting time is for bill for payment otherwise they are really good.
CONS: I felt this dish Khanom been Sao nam (rice noodles with crevette)is missing some flavour or felt in complete. Worth to revisit flavours. quantity to price ratio for starters is not reasonable. Overly priced
chairs: franckly speaking we felt very disappointed as we are eager to come restaurant and sat in uncomfortable chairs for 3 hours..big no...
restaurant ambience: our table of 3 is in corner to radiator and felt like restaurant is bit too packed, felt over capacity seating and my friends chair is literally touching neighbour table and no place to even stretch legs.
PRICE- felt it is pricey for ambience, comfortable and quantity of dishes. Might be difficult to come back with friends
But if you want to explore different dishes of Thailand than usual, suggest...
Read moreThis is my favorite restaurant in Geneva. It has terrific food, great service and fantastic cocktails. I have been here several times and I have not been disappointed (unless I didn’t make reservations!). The menu is rotating and you will typically find something new every time.
Some of my food favorites are the crying tiger and Tom yum. But my all time favorite dish is some type of chili clams that have a slightly spicy flavor. I don’t exactly know what’s in them, but assume it’s oyster sauce, chili oils and clams. Really a beautiful umami flavor that goes great with the crab fried rice!
Strong cocktail menu. The only problem is that once you have one, you need to make the decision on if you will have a second of the same or try something new. My recommendation is try something new because a lot of thought and skill have gone into the cocktails.
The owner and service team are also great. They always are welcoming and it feels like coming back to a friends place to have dinner. I...
