Taqueria Los Cuñados — Restaurant in Geneva

Went to dine with 4 friends. All of us were very disappointed in general. Good point - the cocktails: they were absolutely delicious and the barman was really sweet and kind. As for the food, the service was BAD. The waiteress was rude. First she brought all the vegetarian food mixed with the non-vegetarian one, the meat sauce was everywhere and the veggies at the table couldn't eat it. When we pointed it out, she simply told us "you should've told beforehand". No gesture, no suggestion to bring replacement, nothing. Food was served all mixed and without explanation, so that some of the vegetarian food ended up eaten by non-vegetarians. Not their fault, as the waiteress didn't even say what she was putting on the table.

Second awful thing, we weren't informed that the service was until 9 pm and then we need to gtfo. The waiteress was coming at the table every 5 minutes urging us to order food, or dessert. When we asked what was the rush, she simply replied - "I have another table at 9". This should be mentionned on the phone when the reservation is made, not everyone uses their website to book a table!

Finally, the waitress was just plain unprofessional. At some point, she started flirting with one of the guest and asking him "what did she eat?". Excuse me, I'm sitting right next to him, ask me directly, thank you!

This was the first time and we won't be back. Food is okay, but way too expensive and the portions are ridiculous. For 1.5 hours spend rushing to eat our food (which we never got at the same time so when one was eating the others were starring), spending more than 250 francs and getting this kind of rude service, it's really...

Food was quite good honestly and the drinks are okay. The starters are nice like the quesadilla's. Tacos are also good but wouldn't say it is amazing. 4/5 for sure. Good selection of tequila and decent drinks. Cocktails are a bit on the expensive side and not particularly good.

The one thing I did not like at all is that after reserving for 15 people (around 900 franc bill..) you get rushed out by the staff. They did tell us in advance - but I think it is a bit of poor taste to rush people out making them eat in 1hour when you bring that amout of customers. I would definitely not come back because of that..

Also, server was rude. It was for a birthday and my friend kindly asked if they had some sort of cake and the server rudely responded that that is the exact reason she had come to ask if we wanted desert. If she would have thought for 1 second, this was meant to be a surprise, so it is normal the table would not have responded yes in front of the person whose birthday it was.

We finally managed to have a reservation at this place everyone is raving about! Excellent service and décoration: it feels like a real Mexican restaurant. First disapointment with cocktails; the Margarita is ok at most (was expecting more from a place with such a fancy tequila bar), and the mojito is a real disapointment; tasted like the mix you can buy at the supermarket.... Then comes the food: the starters we tried (Guac and frijoles) and the quesadillas were good (although small) but the tacos were simply blend :-( We took almost one of each kind. They looked awesome....but were all disappointing. I feel like they tried hard to create something special, but failed... It’s a good Mexican option for Geneva, but if you have friends from the US or Mexico visiting, don’t recommend them this place as the real deal... it simple isn’t! I’m glad we didn’t spend 2 hours in line waiting for a table. If you are craving for good tacos, the Mexican restaurant in Les Pâquis is a much better...
