First time dining at Luigia. Its a small chain with another branch in old town Zurich. We dined at this branch in Opfikon. Firstly the ambience is very bold and bright, you feel like you are almost in a casino walking into this place. For us it was nice change from the usual so we liked it. The service staff were friendly and helpful. Their menu was one of the most extensive menus I have browsed through for an Italian restaurant in Zurich. So many choices of pizza, pasta, appetizers and desserts!! The food was above average, I wouldn’t call it gourmet Italian food but it was nice food with good flavors and pretty huge portions of food. I tried the Pasta Carbonara which I wasn’t super impressed with (I do have a little high standards when it comes to Carbonara). But we also had another pasta and a pizza and overall the food was good.

Also tried their almond milk as they were out of their pistachio milk (which I would like to try) which was pretty good as well.

Overall a nice dining experience, would love to visit again and try something else on...

Leider von Anfang bis Ende eine Katastrope... Wir hatten einen Tisch reserviert, den wir nach 10min Warten auch bekommen haben. Karte gibt es keine, man muss mit dem Handy einen Beacon scannen und kommt dann auf die Speisekarte. Allerdings nur mit mobilen Daten. Das Wlan ist passwortgeschützt und Hinweis auf das Passwort gab es keinen. Die Atmosphäre im Restaurant war angespannt, stressig, es war laut und das Personal war sichtlich gestresst. Dass man Italienisch empfangen wird, ist schön, allerdings lief alles nur auf Italienisch oder Englisch. Das Personal konnte kein Deutsch und leider auch nicht besonders gut Englisch. Es war fast unmöglich, für die Kinder Sirup zu bestellen (der in der Karte erfreulicherweise kinderfreundlich gratis angeboten wird). Uns wurden alle möglichen anderen Getränke offeriert, bevor wir es endlich doch geschafft hatten. Meine Tochter zeigte in der Karte auf dem Handy direkt auf die Kinderpizza, die sie ausgesucht hatte. Bestellt wurde eine Grosse. Immerhin fiel der Fehler auf, als ich für meine andere Tochter Bambini-Calamari bestellen wollte. Zur Antwort bekam ich, es gäbe nur eine Art Calamari und es gäbe auch keine French Fries. Ich musste umständlich in der Karte rumscrollen, um zu zeigen, dass auf der Karte tatsächlich Kindercalamari mit Pommes standen. Die wurden dann endlich auch bestellt. Als ich nachfragte, ob er für die andere Tochter eine Kinderpizza bestellt hatte, wurden wir zurechtgewiesen, das müssten wir bei der Bestellung schon so sagen. In der Karte auf die Kinderpizza zeigen und offensichtlich ein Kind sein reicht anscheinend nicht. Nicht sehr typisch Italienisch... Die Getränke kamen schubweise, aber relativ schnell und waren gut. Irgendwann kam plötzlich eine Wasserflasche, die wir nicht bestellt hatten, wurde nach Reklamation aber wieder mitgenommen und nicht berechnet. Das Essen kam auch recht zügig. Die Calamari kamen mit Ketchup und Mayo, aber ohne Pommes. Als ich reklamierte, wurde sich entschuldigt und man versprach, Pommes zu organisieren. In einer Minute wären die Pommes da. Waren sie aber nicht. Nach 15 min Warten reklamierte ich nochmals. Es wurde sich wieder entschuldigt und 5 min später kamen sie tatsächlich. Ohne Ketchup. Das Ketchup, das bei den Calamari dabei war, war schon für die Calamari draufgegangen. Wir fragten also nach mehr Ketchup, was Minuten später geliefert wurde. Die Pizzas waren ok, die Calamari sehr gut, die Pommes nicht gesalzen. Meine Pasta mit Meeresfrüchten war kaum geniessbar, die Strascinati waren wie Karton und lagen grad wie Steine im Magen. Als wir bezahlen wollten, wurde sich nochmals entschuldigt mit dem Hinweis, man hätte für den Fehler mit den Pommes Nichts für das extra Ketchup berechnet. Ich würde mal sagen, peinlich... Zudem wird mit einem Kinderkino geworben. Die Kinder waren enttäuscht. Kein Kino, nur ein Raum mit ein paar nicht funktionierenden Spielgeräten.

Fazit - laut, stressig, hektisch, ungemütlich, extrem schlechter Service und das Essen muss auch nicht nochmal...
