Löwen — Restaurant in Solothurn

My Partner and I went there today and we ordered a Burger with fries and Beef Short ribs with Potato gratin.

The Short ribs were tender but also had a lot of Fat. They were marinated in a sweet BBQ sauce, which I quite liked but they could’ve used more salt. The Potato Gratin in my opinion also could use some more salt and pepper.

Now the Burger was sadly not very good. The Meat was dry and in my opinion ruined by the seasoning. A Burger Patty should just be seasoned with salt and Pepper. The cheese that was ontop the Burger patty aswell was sadly solidified and the texture of the Burger was not quite right. It frankly overpowered the Beef. Lastly there was too much sauce in the burger and there was no balance of flavour.

If you don't fancy visiting Solothurn for its beauty, then do it because of restaurant Löwen. Well, that is if you like eating meat. Because meat... they have plenty of it. It's actually a challenge just to make your choice out of the vast options there are on the menu. But regardless what you choose, I'm sure you'll be served a tasty meal. So far I can at least recommend the rib-eye. But I'm sure I'll go back to try...
