Absolutely Frustrating Experience – Never Again
I don’t usually write reviews, but this dinner was such a letdown, I had to say something. To be precise: they ran out of vegetables for the biryani — how does that even happen? Then we realized the owner himself is the only person handling everything — serving, billing, taking orders — and it shows. The service was incredibly slow, and the whole place felt chaotic and unprofessional.
The food, when it finally arrived, came in a shockingly small portion (barely 250g) despite being overpriced. And yes, they even charge 10 Swiss Francs for water. For that kind of pricing, you’d expect at least basic hospitality and organization.
I’ve frequently traveled and eaten at Indian restaurants across Switzerland, and I can say for sure — this was a bad experience. Poorly managed, overpriced, and totally not worth it. Won’t be returning.
Reply to your comment:- Your reply is as unprofessional as the service you provided. Instead of taking responsibility, you deflect blame onto the customer — classic behavior from someone clearly in over their head.
A full restaurant and delivery orders are not excuses — they’re signs of poor planning and management. If you can’t handle basic demand without running out of vegetables for biryani, then you’re not ready to run a restaurant.
And yes, I ordered more food hoping the experience would improve — it didn’t. I cancelled the rest out of frustration, not because of the price, but because your setup was a mess and Under staffed.
Delivering third-rate service is laughable. Your arrogance in brushing off legitimate criticism is probably the only consistent thing about your business. If you treat honest feedback with this kind of attitude, I’m not surprised the...

During our visit to Swagat Restaurant in Vevey, we indulged in a delightful array of dishes: Lamb Seelh Kabab, Paneer Kadai, Achari Chicken Biryani, Garlic Naan, Samosa, and both Mango and Plain Lassi.
Food:The food was excellent. The Lamb Seelh Kabab was perfectly spiced and tender, the Paneer Kadai was rich and flavorful, and the Achari Chicken Biryani had a unique tangy twist that we loved. The Garlic Naan was fresh and aromatic, complementing the dishes beautifully. The Samosas were crispy and delicious. Both the Mango and Plain Lassi were refreshing and made for a perfect accompaniment to our meal.
Ambience: The interior of the restaurant is a bit on the darker side, which could be improved for a more inviting atmosphere. Enhancing the lighting would greatly elevate the dining experience.
Service:The hosts were fantastic. They were welcoming, attentive, and ensured that we had a wonderful time throughout our meal.
Overall, we thoroughly enjoyed our visit to Swagat Restaurant. The exceptional food and superb service made up for the minor issue with the ambience. We would rate the experience 4/5.
We look forward to returning and highly recommend it to others looking for delicious Indian...
Read moreWhat kind of garbage service is this? They offered us mineral or sparking water.. we said no to both cuz we had our own water and the manager said we are NOT allowed to drink our OWN water. He just came and took away our glasses!!!
Wow.. there is a limit for greediness. We are Indian and in India guests are welcomed with a glass of water even if you visit a poor farmer in a village. So sad to see this. It was super hot outside that day and the least they could have done is offer cold water to their guests.
The manager did realize his mistake and later came and apologized. But it was too late. Half of our water was gone and he even then he didn’t offer us tap water.
The naans were half cooked. Planner kadhai was good. No fans, no AC. It was an oven inside the restaurant. Ruined our evening in Vevey.
Also super pushy manager. We only wanted to order 1 dish and he kept on pushing for one each between the 2 of us. Glad we didn’t...
