The “chambre de confort” that definitely wasn’t! ||||The website doesn’t make it really obvious that in 2019, this town centre Swiss hotel is not en-suite and the WC’s are in a block of 4 with the unisex (yet still private) showers in a block of 4 next door along the corridor. So if you occasionally need the toilet in the middle of the night or don’t want to have to get dressed and undressed again before going for a shower then choose a different hotel and remember to stop drinking earlier in the evening!!!!||||The rooms are spacious but spartan, no TV, no sink, no tea/coffee-making facilities, twin beds (in my case), two chairs and that’s it. The lack of TV is probably quite a good thing as the walls (sorry thin double doors) between my room and my neighbour’s did precious little to dampen the noise of loud snoring coming through!!! And I am partially deaf so I assure you it is LOUD!||||Continuing the lack of facilities theme, there is no facility for breakfast in this hotel... even though the restaurant bar seems quite lively in the evening. ||||Be prepared that should you decide to brush your teeth in the shower, (remembering to bring your own soap and shampoo because none is provided) then you only have a limited time during which you must repeatedly press the water-saving shower shut-off before you are plunged into darkness as the motion sensor activated lights switch themselves off!||||Completing the grand tour of this less than overwhelming hotel is the view of the scaffolding temporary stadium for Les Vignerons festival that fills your vista!!!||||It perhaps should be one star but the manager at reception is a good sort and as a lesson in practical Sustainability - saving water, saving electricity, paring things back to a bare minimum - the hotel still...
Read moreStayed from Friday-Monday, though because our plans changed last minute I had emailed the hotel if we could stay till Monday instead of checking out on Sunday. They said no, but when I booked for one night, they had availability. But that’s on me, so yes we had to pack our stuff and had the reception hold it until we came back from Corsier-sur-Vevey to recheck in at a different room. And yes them holding our stuff did worry me since it was close to the walk spaces where people can grab and go, but thankfully nothing happened.
First off, each of our rooms had no fan. No a/c I understand, but when it’s a humid summer a fan would be great. Opening the windows helped if a good breeze came in; but if your partner is a light sleeper, all the noise from outside will prevent you from a good night’s rest. Outside has a parking lot for this going to the lake and the restaurant downstairs is outside as well, so there can be a lot of noise until very late evening. One room I stayed was able to get a nice cross breeze from the window opened down the hall, but that was if I had my door a bit. And if you like your privacy that can be a bother.
No private bathrooms or showers. It’s literally a college dorm situation. And these rooms’ walls are so thin you can hear people closing their doors loud, using the restroom, etc.
The location is convenient if you wanna cool down in Lake Leman or want to be closer to restaurants and shops. The Bla Bla restaurant on the first floor is delicious serving Italian food, but of course pricy given Switzerland.
Also on our last night the elevator broke. And being on the third floor with heavy luggage, not fun.
Given that the bedrooms were nice and...
Read moreHonestly I was really disappointed. I arrived at the hotel around 11 in the morning and I could only leave the luggage at the entry (not even in a room, but really in the entry) where literally everyone could enter and steal it. I came back after a few hours to do the check in where we got literally no infos about anything (really unprofessional) and they didn t even said "welcome". When I entered in the room the surprise, the extra bed we ordered had a 7cm mattress, which is not even good for a camping. You can imagine for a hotel. The could fix it by adding a cover on it, which made it a bit more comfortable. The extra bed was also a bit higher in the middle, which made me get a lot of pain at my back after the night. We ask as well for an iron and I had to wait like 10 minutes at the front desk because they couldn t tell me that the receptionist would have brought it upstairs (a bit more communication would have been great), which wouldn t have been a problem, if the other receptionist wouldn t have been so unfriendly by telling me it. I will definitely never come back to this place. The check out day I ask if it was possible to store some stuffs in the fridge for a few hours and the first answer was of course "no", and the excuse was that "it s a risk if we receive a control. We are not allowed to store anything for the guests". I am also a hotel receptionist but I would never ever treat a...
