KAIMUG Glattzentrum — Restaurant in Wallisellen

The food is acceptable, however the staff is completely rude. We were the only ones at the till when we arrived, but we were told at the till that we could ONLY chose take away because there were no seats available. We said "fine" thinking we will find a place somewhere. Meanwhile a table freed up and I went to occupy it explaining I will pay for the difference in price and there is no problem. I was talked back in a very rude way: " My colleague told you you could wait and you asked for take away and now you can't sit down because behind you there are two other people" I explained as nice as I could we were only given the take-away option and those people arrived after us and I was going to pay the difference again and she and her colleague at the till both continued shouting loud that we could not seat down. We eventually sat down, paid the difference and ate in a hurry while she and her colleague kept giving us the looks. Soon after many tables freed up and the place started to become empty anyways. Left with a bitter taste and never to return again.

Das Essen ist akzeptabel, aber das Personal ist völlig unhöflich. Wir waren die Einzigen an der Kasse, als wir ankamen, aber an der Kasse wurde uns gesagt, dass wir uns NUR zum Mitnehmen entscheiden könnten, weil keine Plätze frei seien. Wir sagten "gut" und dachten, dass wir irgendwo einen Platz finden würden. In der Zwischenzeit wurde ein Tisch frei, und ich ging hin, um ihn zu besetzen, wobei ich erklärte, dass ich für den Preisunterschied zahlen werde und dass es kein Problem gibt. Ich wurde sehr unhöflich zurückgewiesen: "Meine Kollegin sagte Ihnen, Sie könnten warten, und Sie baten um Mitnahme, und jetzt können Sie sich nicht hinsetzen, weil hinter Ihnen zwei andere Leute sitzen", erklärte ich, so nett ich konnte. Man gab uns nur die Mitnahmemöglichkeit, und diese Leute kamen nach uns an, und ich wollte die Differenz noch einmal bezahlen, und sie und ihre Kollegin an der Kasse schrien beide lauthals, dass wir uns nicht hinsetzen könnten. Wir setzten uns schliesslich hin, bezahlten die Differenz, während sie und ihre Kollegin uns immer wieder die Blicke auf sich zogen. Bald darauf wurden viele Tische frei, und der Platz wurde ohnehin langsam leer. Wir gingen mit einem bitteren Geschmack und kehrten nie...

I’ve been a loyal customer of Kaimug at Glattzentrum for years, picking up my weekly Pad Thai takeaway. It used to be unbeatable compared to the other locations in Zurich. However, over the past two months, something seems to have changed. The portion sizes feel smaller, the ‘spicy’ option isn’t spicy anymore, and they’ve even forgotten the peanuts a couple of times. I’d greatly appreciate it if management could look into this and ensure the quality matches the high standard I’ve come to expect. I’ll gladly update my review once things...

I had the pad thai with prawns and my wife pad thai with chicken. Now I'm no expert in Thai food, so I couldn't say if it's authentic. But the food tasted nice, was fresh and a good portion size: I was quite full afterwards. My wife particularly liked the chili sauce that is available at the table.
