A plastic piece in you food - Free of charge... I dined yesterday as a party of 3 at this restaurant. I had been at the place once before, and the food was pretty good. However, the service, especially the attitude of the owner (I assume he is the owner the way he behaves) was quite annoying. Yesterday my friend's daughter found a piece plastic in her food (picture attached, size 2cm long, 0.5 cm wide, and pretty thick, probably like 10-15mm). We showed the piece to the waiter, who called the owner. The ownere came, he said sorry, and asked whether we found it at the bottom of the iron pot (I didn't understand the relevance) we answered yes. Next thing he said was "this can happen". I objected to his judgement and replied "no, this can't happen", and he insisted that it can. I tried to explain that I am not talking about a probalistic outcome with my statement, rather the way one should consider the situation Accepting the possibility of the incident itself clearly demonstrats that this incident or similar incidences could really happen at this restaurant. The owner's tone and gestures were like we were to blame. (“You already finished the meal and now complaining about a free-of-charge extra piece plastic in it”). My thinking is clearer now, and I am afraid that I can't exclude the possibility that the plastic was part of the cooking process. The owner ordered the waiter to bring a new pot Tikka Masala, which (you guessed it right) didn't arrive. Only at the end of the dinner, a waiter brought a glass of Mango Lassi (yes… only 1) and we didn't consume it. On the bill all items were listed as we ordered, including Tikka Masala. To be perfectly honest: I would have objected if Tikka Masala was taken off and we didn't pay for it, in which case, I wouldn’t feel totally righteous to write this note.

Visited Kohinoor Indian Restaurant in Zug downtown. Wonderful location & lovely ambience inside the restaurant. The seating arrangement is spacious with awesome decor. They also have a buffet section downstairs perfect to host get together & private parties. Food is delicious & the bread Nan was buttery soft. Great service & Mr Singh is made sure everyone was served well. Must visit this restaurant when in Zug.

This place is a joke. They have a seemingly fine take away offering at lunch, where you get to fill a small take away box from the buffet for CHF 15. However, they watch over your shoulder what you choose, and complain to you if it's not to their liking.

The box has two compartments of equal size. They complained that one side needs to be filled with rice. The whole thing is ridiculous:

Their made-up "rules" are not stated anywhere.

I didn't take anything expensive like meat, or in any way abuse their offering. I took bread, some rice in the bottom of both compartments, and two different vegetable curries on top of the rice, as would be deemed perfectly normal. Not to mention that in total, I actually took the amount of rice they require (two half-compartments equal one full compartment), but still they felt compelled to complain to me. Since there was still space in my box, I added a piece of bread on top of it all.

They already have the smallest take away box in human history, so a fair expectation for a customer is that you can fill it as you wish.

Their justification for the complaint was that the price is CHF 15. I think the price is perfectly fine for a take away box of this size. But FFS, they'd be far better off setting the price to CHF 18 if that allowed them to stop complaining to their customers.

Food 3 stars, service 1 star as I can...

Edit to respond: You’ve proved my point beautifully that you cannot take feedback. Brilliant 😂

Unfortunate to have to leave this review.

Atmosphere and decor nice although greenery is a little too artificial.

Food is excellent, but not a lot of meat in the main curry I had whilst charging nearly 30chf without rice. (Compare to Mahalaxmi in Baar and you’ll notice the difference).

Service is the real shame. It’s a continual up-sell and they know their clients are wealthy. Things like asking for pilau rice means you pay 8chf for vegetable rice, bizarrely. Asking for a large Cobra beer means they pour 2x 3dl bottles into a 5dl glass and charge you 14chf.

And if you try to politely discuss you’ll be talked over and they will NOT accept feedback or admit what they’re doing is cheeky. “But the people pay”. Wow.

Bill was 87chf for starter, main and 2 beers. Due to there being multiple instances of cheeky pricing, I disputed and they removed one of the drinks.

Check the responses to criticism in the other reviews. Quite childish and immature.

Overall, they’ll do well initially as it’s new but if they continue to bleed customers and serve items with poor value for the cost, this venue will change again like it has done multiple times over the last few years. It can be amazing if they make small...
