La Taverna — Restaurant in Zug

After a nice day we stopped by the restaurant for a pizza and a cold beer. So far so good. After having asked the bill, the payment (contactless) went through, but no receipt came out of the machine. The waiter claimed that the payment didn´t go through. I had to pay again. I never received a confirmation that the first payment didn´t go through. Something about a paper jam?! We went inside and another machine was presented. I paid (again) and we left. I couldn´t check it right there, because I left my phone at home. Once we returned, I checked and the bill was paid twice...as I expected. We returned to the restaurant with the receipt and showed the online banking information. Hesitant to pay the money back, my receipt was taken and I was told to come back on Monday. I insisted to get my receipt and my money right there and then. I’ve been here many times and the experience is usually the same. The food is consistently very good, especially the pizza, which keeps me coming back. Service is quick when it comes to bringing the food, although the staff is not always the friendliest, which can make the atmosphere feel a bit less welcoming. I would like to share my experience. The food was quite average. When it was time to pay the bill I got the card machine the bill wasentered correctly around 79 francs, I chose to leave some tips and the BILL WENT TO 8,110 FRANCS!!!!! I was lucky to enter my pin incorrectly and looked at the numbers and was shocked. To me that looked like scam. Never again I will be visiting the place and BE AWARE AND DOUBLE CHECK...
