Extremely disappointing. My family and I have been Hiltl customers for 30 years. We have also regularly visited the tibits in Lucerne. So while we were disappointed to see the Bären go, we were excited to have a tibits closer to home and to go there to celebrate a birthday. Unfortunately tibits Zug did not deliver the quality that we are used to. The buffet is extremely limited. And with that I mean extremely limited. A few salads, some of which had turned brown and limp. Some desserts, and very few hot dishes that didn’t pair at all (rösti, jalapeños, veggie meatballs in tomato sauce and scrambled eggs?). They weren’t really hot either. More like lukewarm. Being a long time customer, we are aware that these establishments are on the pricey side. But Sfr 41.- for an apple juice, iced tea, a 272g plate and a 374g plate of cold food is ridiculous. Especially since with those weights we still had barely any food on our plate! During the payment process, before you can even pay with a card you are asked to type in a Tip. For what? The customer does everything themselves up to that point?! When asked by staff how we liked our food, my mother decided to be honest and voiced our disappointment. We explained that this was not the quality that we are used to, that we were aware this wasn’t Hiltl, but that we were expecting the same variety and quality that the Lucerne tibits establishment offers. This was very poorly received. They did apologize, but we were given some poor excuses and quite a bit of attitude. When we declined the coffee offered, two coupons were slapped down on the table “to be used in Lucerne” instead. While I understand that unhappy customers are not nice to deal with, snarky comments in return do not improve the situation at all.
Needless to say, we will not be back.
And regarding any possible replies saying “we are not Hiltl!”. Yes, we are aware. But you are associated with the name and the brand. And as such, customers come in expecting quality that comes with this...
Read moreI went to many tibits establishments (St. Gallen, Lucerne, Zürich Oerlikon etc., and i unfortunately i have to say that this tibits is the most disapointing one in comparison. I do not understand the limited open hours, the not so friendly stuff and the limited food buffet. I understand that the establishment is smaller but still would expect a higher number of choices. In addition, the water station is only on the 2nd floor and there is no water station on the first floor. I really hope that tibits Zug improves these points as i really like tibits's concept in general but this branch has definitely to work on...
Read moreI love Tibits and I’ve visited many locations, but this one really stands out. The setup is beautiful and cozy, with lots of plants and a lovely green colour scheme. The staff is very kind and welcoming, and the quality of the food is really great. They have lots of unique dishes. During my visit, the staff even shared leftover brownie pieces with everyone sitting. That was very sweet. And yes, there are also power outlets, so it’s also great to sit and study...
