Not your usual Cup of Tea - in fact we were here on a Saturday afternoon after having made reservations for a signature "Afternoon Tea Time" - As aficionados for this type of relaxing moment we were eager to see what FIVE could come up with.
Well... the surprise was big when we were informed "on location" that the Afternoon Tea was no more. It had ended in February and we were in March. Too bad the information never got to us despite all the communications and confirmations until the very same day were revolving around the Tea Time.
From initial "rage" and "disappointment" (as it was a surprise afternoon for my wife) it turned out to be a relaxing afternoon afterall. Instead of the teas and the scones and everything else we had imagined, we were served selected snacks & bites from the menu.
Why a 4-Star and overall good rating still, then ? Well, although in a hotel class of this range it is absolutely unexcusable to have such a flop in comms and internal coordination towards the client, I must admit ALL the staff, from the manager to the operations in charge, to the waiter and cook came by to greet and they were all very friendly to save "my" day and the surprise for my wife. Everyone gave his/her best and professionalism, good manners, trained crisis management and client management were flawless. We had good plates, some forthcoming compromize and a very good time.
In the end, apart from the fact that it became a different event, everything went very nicely and I want to thank especially Mr. William Duc and Mrs. Maria Ioannidou for having defused the whole situation with great respect and discretion.
Well...

The promise of dining from the usual menu (https://thevaultzurich.five.kitchen/menu/Bites) set high expectations. Regrettably, the experience did not live up to the billing.
Upon arrival, we were offered a limited menu that bore little resemblance to the standard offerings or the advertised specialties. This bait-and-switch tactic, with no prior indication that the regular menu would be replaced, was deeply disappointing. The food served, including cold sandwiches and stale bread, was not up to par with the Five Zurich standard.
The lack of transparency in advertising the event's menu and the substandard quality of food served on a night that promised elegance and indulgence was disheartening. It felt as though the establishment was more interested in capitalizing on the occasion rather than delivering the experience promised.
I left behind a significant unspent credit, which only added to the frustration of the evening. I hope this feedback prompts Five Zurich to improve communication and service to prevent future patrons from facing similar...
Read moreCame from lunch on a Sunday to break up our spa / massage day. Food is ok, but not to a 5-star hotel standard. Calamari was ok, wild mushroom risotto good, but the Diavola pizza bland. We left underwhelmed. Service somewhat disjointed as we were beside a table of 12 so the 2 staff stretched thin. Treat as a casual cafe, & you have fair...
