Thiwa Cafe — Restaurant in Zurich

The bar is minimal, the lady is kind with whom she wants, probably her friends, quite rude with others, especially those who do not speak German. Today I had my lunch there and I received a phone call. At some point she shouted at me with anger saying in German “Pay and go outside with your phone!”, pointing her finger towards the door. I was the only customer in that moment. I felt very humiliated, I paid and left that place. I would have given 2 stars if this unpleasant episode did not happen, but honestly I do not feel like cheating users of this service. Prices are high for that area of the city and the quality of the place. The “menus” are pre-cooked and come in suspicious sealed plastic bags that are opened for microwave heating. Quite disgusting to see. I do not rate the service, since you have to clear the table yourself otherwise the lady gets upset, so basically there is just minimum service. The place is infested by wasps and flies and you might end up be sharing you meal with them.

We love this cafe, the lady who runs it is adorable and my daughter loves to go by for a schoggigipfli or a brotli.
