marmar cuisine orientale — Restaurant in Zurich

Happy to be the first person writing a review for Marmar. I often go Puls 5 to eat at one of the best thai restaurants. But now I have even a better choice, Marmar. It was a coincidence that I walked in today and wanted to check out the menu. Cashier girl was very welcoming, greeted me with a complimentary lemonade. Then I met the owner, then his mother then father. Their hospitality was very impressive, I felt like home. I didn’t hesitate to inform them that I am a foodie and originally Turkish, so I do understand their cuisine well. I sampled many things from their menu with my wife this evening. And I can safely say that, Marmar elegantly joins our nearby favorite kitchens here in Zürich now.

We will visit here often. Their Babaganoush is excellent, sarma, dolma, and içli köfte are exceptional. Beef, sucuk and chicken are also. We couldn’t find anything we didn’t like. Sincere compliments to the chef, and the staff. You did it!

The new place to be/know! An absolute insiders' tip in Zurich! The owner is such a warm and welcoming person and I really enjoyed watching him while preparing our food. You can tell that he loves, what he is doing and that he is passionate about his cuisine. The staff is very friendly and mindful. I really loved the interior - it's warm and fancy and they told us they decorated all by themselves. I stayed in Switzerland for 2 days and was looking for a place for a quick bite around the Sheraton hotel. Found Marmar which is a short walk from the hotel. Ordered a chicken shawarma for 16 CHF which is a good price for food around the area. The shawarma wrap was nice and crisp and the chicken was hot and tasty. The owner is also friendly. I sat outside the restaurant which has an interesting atmosphere. This is a good place to come if you don't want to spend too much for tasty food to fill...
