The staff was very kind and friendly. The ambience inside is nice, relaxed and somewhat luxurious. The prices are a bit higher than average in the area. The food we had was ok. My partner didn’t like the sushi, said that the crab was to pasty. And that the miso soup was too salty. The jasmine tea and the plum wine were both great. We also ordered a desert – the chocolate cake. The desert was not that balanced. The pistachio ice cream was the best of all the components. Very smooth and not too sweet ice cream. There was hardened caramel with slices of nuts on the cake. It was sticking to my teeth, but the taste was quite good. The cake was basically a very very thick and smooth dark chocolate mousse. The texture was really nice and rich, but for me personally it was way to bitter. I left half of the cake. The cake was shaped like a donut and in the middle, there was more liquid caramel. We let the waitress know about our opinion on the food we had and she was very professional about it. Would come here again, to try some other dishes they offer.

Very hip yet comfy Japanese restaurant. But don't let the name fool you, there's a lot more to Kai than sushi. I think the Chef's Suggestion 3 is an amazing value. Priced at chf92 for two people, you get a very generous 4 course menu. You can start with either edamame or miso soup. Then comes a generous portion of Asian slaw, excellent ceviche, and tuna shasimi. Your next course is a pulled salmon bao bun. And last but not least a sliced ribeye steak with a perfectly balanced shitake mushroom sauce. For chf46 per person, it is the most delicious bargain in town. Oh yes, and the service is excellent. I will be back again and again.

We stumbled upon this absolute gem whilst passing through Zurich this evening. Having used to live near here, I was not sure whether it would be good as I had many bad meals and experiences with bad service in Zurich. This place was not the same, and was absolutely brilliant in all departments. The friendly guys cooking and making the immensely tasty food were all happy to see us come, and gave us a warm goodbye. The waitress was super nice and her service was incredible. We loved the food and will for sure swing by if we are even passing on the motorway! Lovely!

Me and my wife we recently had an exceptional dining experience at this sushi restaurant, thanks to Luca, the director, and a wonderful Brazilian waitress whose warm smile and friendly demeanor made the evening unforgettable.

From the start, Luca impressed us with his professionalism and attention to detail. He ensured that everything was perfect, from our seating to the ambience, and took the time to check on us personally throughout the evening. His genuine care for the guests and passion for the restaurant were evident, adding a special touch to our night.

Our waitress, a cheerful Brazilian lady, brought incredible energy to the table. She greeted us with a radiant smile and made sure we felt welcome right away. Her recommendations were spot-on, and she shared her enthusiasm for the dishes in a way that made us even more excited to try them. Her warmth and attentiveness really elevated our experience.

Thank you, Luca, and to the lovely Brazilian waitress for making our dinner such a pleasure. Highly recommended for anyone looking for a memorable...

The pictures in the menu are enticing, so we ordered one dish from each category. The sushi and sushi chefs were Impeccable, that is why I give Kai Sushi one star. Unfortunately all their abilities and efforts are quelched by the other dishes and employees. The wait staff (I do mean all that were working the floor tonight, 30.05.2018 at 7pm), lacked grooming and general hygiene: dirty uniforms at the beginning of the shift. One waitress leaned against the bar cleaning out her ear with her finger. She then scratched her breasts and itched her hair and scalp. She had white stains on her black clothes, from what, I don’t dare ponder. The other dishes were tragic. Beef tenderloin, which would have normally been delicious, was drenched in a sugary vinegrette (tasted like simple syrup). We tried to remove it with our napkins and smear it with wasabi and soy sauce, but it was saturated. The cucumber salad was drenched in oil. The skewered fish was bone dry. I think this restaurant would greatly improve if it was “Unfused” and professional wait staff...
