Ristorante Frascati — Restaurant in Zurich

This restaurant has lost its touch after it got new management. A once authentic Italian restaurant with professional staff has turned into a tourist trap.

While the prices remain virtually the same, the quality of the service and the menu has plunged. Most waiters are very inexperienced and unprofessional. We waited 15 minutes for our appetizers to be removed once we had finished, even though the waiters passed us multiple times. We were also given the menu a second time one minute after we had ordered. The waiters are inattentive and did not bother to ask if we wanted more water even though our glasses were empty throughout half our lunch. After we finished our appetizer (not having eaten all of it) and said that it could be taken away, we were asked twice if we really didn’t want to finish it. Overall, the service is quite chaotic.

The menu has been simplified and has lost its quality. While the burrata was good, the lemon scaloppine were overcooked and the sauce was far too sour, even for a lemon sauce. The potatoes meant as a side dish were also drenched in the sour sauce, which is unacceptable.

It’s very disappointing that a formerly great restaurant let all the expericenced waiters go, hired cheaper staff and changed the menu to create an expensive...

Being at Frascati last Saturday and it was a horrible experience. We asked the waiter if the fish was fresh what he answered a yes and so we ordered grilled mixed fish. Also pizza and seafood risotto. After ordering I went to the toilet ( it was disgusting to see how dirty it was) and when I arrived to the table the food was already there. So in less than 10m all the food we have ordered was on the table ready to eat. Of course was something wrong and after I tasted the food I was sure that the food was already made. The fish was cooked long time before. Besides being dry was cold. I come from the sea. I know how good and fresh fish tastes and Saturday the fish that was presented it wasn't either fresh or cooked after we ordered. The pizza was not great and the risotto as well. We end up paying 258CHF for 3 adults and the most of the food was left in our plates. When we said to the waiter he reacted the most horrible and rude way possible. Said next time we should eat at home. As far as I know I live in a free country that allows me to complain about a paid service that wasn't good without fear a bad, unfortunate reaction. Never...

Restaurant well located in Zurich. Food in line with the prices ( not too expensive) and fresh. Despite of the good food, the service is to be improved considerably : long waiting time between entrances main dishes and dessert (at least 30 min waiting for pizzas and 40min for a tiramisu !!). People not friendly, not polite nor taking care of the clients. they actually don’t care at all !!

Note: at the end of our lunch, we decided to politely complain and highlight the fact that service in general was not good and might be improved. The person to whom we shared our thoughts did not react (no smile nor any expression on her face nor said a single word) and ignored us completely. Another employee observed the situation and asked her what was going on and her reply was " nothing important". in other words: she didnt care about our complain …

CONCLUSION: If you want to have a nice lunch or dinner, this is definitely NOT THE PLACE !!!
