Studio Bellerive — Restaurant in Zurich

Exceptional local by the lake promenade, especially in a sunny day.

Our waiter was extremely friendly, respectful and professional, so he managed very well our disappointment and we still had a good time. He deserves a 5 stars!

Our disappointment was deep as the food offering was limited to a short / light menu and the normal breakfast buffet was presented as a brunch at a schocking price.

None of these restrictions was either announced at the moment of making the reservation nor visible on the website. It was also not communicated by the maitre de salle at the time of installing us in our very nice table.

A pitty the maître de salle did not came by to backup his waiter in an effort of contributing to recovering the customer experience.

We decided to stay there as we were hungry and it was late to look for alternatives.

The prosseco was very good and generously served. The ceviche was deliciously fresh and minimalist in tasting. None of the other servings made it to our inital expectation as relatively ordinary according to our experience. We tried to get some exceptions but we were told, they were firmly declined by the chef and the maitre de salle despite and empty room.

We will have to decide if we go back to discover the appetizing offering of the full menu considering the rich offerings in the neighborhood.

I have reserved a table a week in advance via Google maps. Apparently my reservation was not confirmed and was still pending by the restaurant. Explanation is that it is "not their system", so they "bare no responsibility". However, to me it IS their responsibility - obviously the request from another system was overseen (neither accepted nor cancelled) and I did not get to know about it until the day of the reservation, when I have called them to make a change. Needless to say, there were no table available anymore and they said they cannot do anything "because it is not our system problem". I hate this kind of attitude. By the way, it was my second attempt to visit this restaurant. The first time they have messed up on the phone. There will be no 3rd attempt, enough.

Update: Soon after my call I got a cancellation, a week after the request. So obviously they...

The historic studio feel has been kept and ats a quaint atmosphere to the upscale restaurant. The service was impeccable, especially the lady that seated ud went above and beyond. Unfortunately we were told upon being seated that the lamb and one other meat dish were unavailable that night which was a disappointment. We instead had the salmon trout and the sea bass -the salmon trout was like any standard salmon serving but the sea bass was the best I've ever had. We had mashed potato and the thyme oven baked bread along with the main courses. We had the pork belly and Mrs Sophie's Choice soup forstaryes and they were both great. The cocktails were a bit to the boozy side but...
