Magic Monkey Kombucha — Restaurant in Chishang

No, I did not eat here. I was staying across the small alley and asked a very lovely woman there about their beverage selection. Clearly, I am at least 30 years past being a target customer, but she was very patient and friendly, none the less. After generously offering me a glass of ice water, she even recommended a cafe and got me directions on Google Maps, all in perfect English. I saw her serving a very nice looking noodle dish to a diner and explaining the provenance of some of the ingredients. A nice looking place. I would have stayed, but frankly, it was hot and I wanted a beer! I also felt bad about destroying the lovely youthful vibe of the place. Please go and support this...

Nice kombucha and burger vegan joint.

Very simple menu with 3 burger choices.

I had the red onion sauce burger. The patty was really good and the texture was quite realistic. They make their own bread so that was on point as well-slightly crispy on the out side and held a nice balance of firmness to softness as you travel down to the patty.

The burger, although a bit on the small side, would easily be more than double the price in Taipei.

Also had the magic monkey kombucha. It was good, and had lots of fizz, but would have also liked a bit more sour bite to it so next time I'll go for the pineapple or...

Unfortunately, their opening hours are incorrect on Google. Wasted our time walking here in the heat to find shutters down and a sign saying Sat - Sun 12:00 - 18:00.

I only marked them down to 4 because I never tried their food.

Luckily - another veg place was open not too far. Amina is the name and the staff were super friendly and helped us pick a vegan option on their menu that was fresh and healthy.
