This was the 3rd Yonghe place I was searching for. Not sure why the Yonghes are all closed Monday morning this was the 3rd one I found and it's finally opened! Simple and nice place for comfort food. This is the kind of food most Asians will like for breakfast. In front of the shop you can actually see the open kitchen where everything is prepared right in front of your eyes as you were taking orders. Service is pretty efficient, though there was a queue I got my order taken and food ready within 5 minutes. Loved the cold soya bean drink but was wondering why they don't sell beancurd. The youtiao was thin and crispy and doesn't feel oily at all. The egg was a bit random because I wanted to have eggs for breakfast though initially I wanted to order a Shao bing and add into it but was worried the size would be big. The store went through a remodeling and cleaning after covid and was closed for several weeks, but when it reoped, surprise, it looked exactly like the old place, except prices went up, but still a bargain.
Specialties include XLB and the seseame cookie out front as well as the usuals. 90 nt will get you 10 somewhat bready rolls filled with vegetable and...

There are individual dishes but you can also get sets. My favourite set is the yiu tiau with (sweet) soya milk and egg pancake. There is a savoury soya milk option but that is an acquired taste.
Yes ventilation is not great and you will come out with the smell of oil on your clothes but that's what you will get in most Chinese restaurants. Small price to pay. Or get takeaway. Besides service is quick and you just eat and go, there are others waiting for your (shared) table. The pictured set cost (Nov 2018) under NT$100. There is also fried...
