ABV Bar & Kitchen — Restaurant in Da'an District

We visited this restaurant with my family on May 4th to celebrate a milestone for my child. I had high expectations, especially with a 4.8 rating, and I was genuinely excited since I personally love Southeast Asian cuisine.

We ordered white rice, sisig, frech fries (extra flavorful), tortang talong, and chicken, and our total bill came to 1,500 NTD.

The sisig was quite far from the authentic taste you’d expect from the Philippines—something essential seemed to be missing.

The tortang talong, on the other hand, had a nice twist. It was elevated from the traditional version, and I really appreciated the enhancement.

The chicken took 28 minutes to be served. By the time it arrived, we had already finished our meal. We were informed it would take 20 minutes, so the delay was understandable. Despite the wait, the chicken was flavorful, and the chili sauce paired with it was excellent. I’d rate the chicken 4.5 stars—with the deduction mainly for the wait time.

Overall, it’s a nice spot to try once.

We were excited to come here initially because of it's high rating and some positive feedback. The restaurant decoration looks gorgeous, but some of the staffs there were a bit unfriendly when we asked for additional tableware (bowl and spoon, they didn't give us initially). We ordered 4 people set for 3 of us, the total portion of the meals definitely enough for 5. 💡the salad was good and fresh, and the garlic-mixed rice was impressive as well. However, the rest of the meals were extremely salty and oily. Too much deep-fried food decreased our appetites quickly. The dessert, Bubur cha cha tasted watery as well. Too bad that we like ABV another Japanese-style restaurant and thought this one will...

This one features SouthEastAsian and is part of ABV Bar & Kitchen family. Several located in Da’an District. Each location has a different cuisine. I had “Pad Krapow Moo” Thai Style Minced Pork with Herbs, knew it would be spicy from 3 peppers on menu. The spices were perfect and good portion. Was happy they had 3 non-alcoholic Beers available for Dry January. It’s so good I plan on visiting all of their locations. Good news they don’t close at 1400 like a lot of Taipei restaurants.
