Here I had the best ear piercing experience of my life (so far)!! I got my third lobe piercing here.
(I am from the US and) this was wayyy better than getting my other two earlobe piercings at Claire’s (lol) in the US.
The worker/boss lady was patient with me. She showed me the different options for earrings. I picked ones that were 400 NTD each because they have flat backs and won’t poke me. Yay!! I’m really glad they offer those. I feel like the price is very reasonable and it’s totally worth it for me. The total price was 900 because it’s an additional 100 for the two piercings. (50 each for lobe piercings I think). This is super affordable compared to the US in my experience.
The boss lady that did my piercing was great. 10/10. She used 白花油 / white flower oil to numb the area and it actually really helped! If you aren’t familiar, it’s similar to icy hot or deep blue rub. I felt no pain, just a slight pinch. Way more comfortable than the two other lobe piercings I’ve gotten. More comfortable than acupuncture I’d say. I kept telling her she’s so good at it, so she told me she did ear piercings for two babies recently. I asked if they cried and she said no! Haha. I believe her.
I would say the only downside to getting a piercing here is that they don’t provide cleaning solution/alcohol to clean the piercing with at home. She said I need to buy it myself. I hope I bought the right kind… I bought alcohol prep pads that you use before getting a shot or something.
They say you can come back in a month. I think it’s to check on your healing and maybe help you switch it out. They gave me care instructions in English.
It’s only been a few hours, so I’ll update my review after 1 month if it gets infected. So far, one side doesn’t hurt at all but the other side is a little tender and throbbing very slightly. I’m very happy with my experience today though :)
3/5 UPDATE: My piercings seem to be healing well with no infections yet! However, I found out that alcohol is not recommended for cleaning new piercings. The care instructions they gave me said to use alcohol cleaning pads, but I felt like the piercing area was very irritated after I used those. Instead, I bought a saline solution and cotton swabs (q-tips) to clean them, and that has been better for me. I would recommend getting a...
Read moreThe lady who helped pierce my ears earlier today was really friendly and professional, she would rub my earlobe for several minutes after disinfecting with rubbing alcohol before using the disposable piercing device, which is better from a hygiene standpoint and costs significantly less than what a normal ear piercing service using a needle gun would cost (at least TWD$1000+ for both ears); here it costs around NTD$250-350 per piercing depending on which starter pair of earrings you choose. (mine was $700 total for repiercing both my earlobes)
For more context, I've had my ears pierced before via needle gun 5 years ago at a street market earring stall, my ears got infected and stayed inflamed with pus for months, so I gave up one year in and let the holes grow back.
If you're getting your earlobes pierced for the first time/repierced, you have to keep your earrings on for at least 3-4 weeks so the pierced holes won't grow back easily, keep on even when showering. Always keep your earlobes dry and clean, never damp or it will cause infection. 48 hours after piercing, rotate the front of the earring a little to loosen dried blood. They'll give you a few alcohol wipes to disinfect the back of your ears as necessary, and you can come back after one month to change earrings. (This is what she'll tell you when you pierce your earlobes for the first time)
Overall it was really quick and the service was great, would recommend if you're fearful of needle guns at other places....although at peak hours you might have to wait longer since the process of piercing each time (choosing starter pair, disinfection, rubbing earlobes, piercing and all) will take at least 5-10 minutes per piercing per person, as it is a small shop with one or two...
