Bar Weekend — Restaurant in Da'an District

Worst bar ever. Went to celebrate a welcome party for a friend who just came back, we booked a private room and they did not let one of our friends in, claiming that the maximum is 10 pax even though there is so much space, and asked us to ask one of our friends to leave. Very very bad attitude with no flexibility and Ruined a pleasant evening out.

Edit: Regarding the bar manager’s very unhelpful and hostile reply, it is evident that future customers should avoid going to this bar at all costs. 1. The review was given based on my own experience as me and my friend the person stuck outside, no details were ‘kindly’ omitted. 2. I am unaware of anyone being rude to the staff inside the bar or outside, instead- their story is that the staff was extremely rude and insisted them to provide a telephone number even though reservation name was already given. 3. The person booking the reservation was unaware of the 10 person rule (stated in the board outside and on your website but seriously, wouldn’t we only know when we reach outside the bar and anyone who really makes an effort to read your whole website?) as this was not mentioned anytime throughout the whole booking process. As said above, when we reached, the staff insisted that we discuss and choose one person to leave as they could not accommodate just one extra person. This event was a welcome party as we arrived from overseas after a long time of not being in Taiwan. 避雷!!!! terrible experience in our only night in Taipei. Wld have given 0/5. Stay away at all cost if you don’t have a reservation. Zero customer service from doormen Ori.

We were first in line when they opened at 730pm. Was given a link showing we were 16th in line. Asked if we would only be seated after the “first seating” of customers turned around so we could plan our time.

All Ori said was “不确定, 有位子会联络你们” and insisted he couldn’t give us a specific timing but that wasn’t what we were asking for. We just wanted to know how the queue system works and we decide for ourselves whether to wait or not.

His replies were curt and basically ignored us when we physically stood in front of him and proceeded to tend to the phone calls.

We finally got the call at 11pm and told us he could only hold the table for us for 30min. Arrived at 11:31pm and he told us we were 1 min late and the system has “automatically” cancelled our queue.

Great place to hang out with friends and enjoy multiple drinks. Make sure you make a reservation as it’s almost impossible to walk in to get a seat. They give a grace period of 15-20 min if you have made a reservation. The bar is located at the basement of the Chez Nous Hotel. There is quite a number of seats but are fully occupied most of the time. They have a huge drinks menu categorised from A to E by the taste profile. The staff would recommend that you drink in order from A to E and not to go backwards on the menu to not compromise on the taste. All the cocktails are infused with tea and taste very refreshing compared to regular cocktails. If you want the traditional cocktails the bartender can whip it up for you too.
