This is a must try Pancake place if you are in Taipei. Koku cafe is known for its delicious Japanese style fluffy pancakes.
Their Classic Soufflé Pancakes are Light, fluffy, and served with whipped cream and syrup.
My first visit 4-5 years ago I got Matcha Pancakes with matcha cream. And this dish is still a popular dish until now
The Fresh Fruit Pancakes is also delicious. It Topped with seasonal fruits and cream for a refreshing twist. If you are a fan of local fruit, this one will fulfill your desire.
Today, I got Lemon soufflé Pancake & my hubby got the Black Sesame one.
The lemon was so so yummy. It had some lemon zest on it. Lemon sauce is slightly sour and very light sweet. It is so balanced.. The black sesame one has a lot of sesame crumbs on it…nice texture and nice fragrance. Also the batter has sesame in it…
You can pair your pancakes with a nice coffee or tea. Some of the teas are seasonal available .
Nice service. You will get seated, order and go pay at the counter then wait for your yummy pancakes to be served 👍
Note: soufflé Pancakes take time to make . I believe it would take 10-15 minutes . Oh! Each person has to order something. I read some complaints about it but It is normal for many restaurants especially ones that have limited seating.

Read moreThe atmosphere, food, drinks, owner: everything was perfect for a slow paced Saturday morning. You definitely need to be patient with the pancakes as they take time to perfect, it’s not really a sort of breakfast that’d be suited for a busy day or if you’re in a rush. Otherwise, if you have the time to enjoy the cafe, it’s perfect to come chat with friends over tea while you wait for pancakes. The owner was so sweet and took the time to explain her process and some of the drinks to us, and we had a great conversation with her about coffee. The pancakes themselves were delicious and fluffy with amazingly pronounced flavor that still wasn’t exceedingly strong. They were very light too, allowing for a more pleasant experience. If you have time on a quiet weekend morning or any time in general, I totally recommend coming here to enjoy the environment + amazing...
Read moreI have to say, it’s probably my fault for not checking the prices. I’m giving 4 stars instead of 5 because of how crazy expensive the soufflé pancake is (really 3.5 stars for value but I’m rounding up for the taste)
Everyone who comes in is asked to order a soufflé or drink, and obviously we came here looking for their famous soufflés. The soufflés come with a drink (btw the cheaper Americano option is no longer available, so the free “drink” only consists of tea, or you’ll have to pay at least $150 more for a coffee).
For a lemon soufflé with early grey tea, the standard set comes to $520 😂 I have to say, it is a littleeee ridiculous given you only get two pieces. Yes the soufflé was great, with a very nice lemon curd and fresh cream, and the earl grey was very strong, but I will probably try a different place next time.
