L'angolo illy coffee — Restaurant in Da'an District

During my first months in Taipei I had a really hard time finding a cafe that serves great coffee, isn't overpriced and doesn't have crowds of students looking for an office. The search is over, because this place it all. It's not designed as an extension of the NTU library like many other places in the neighbourhood. While you can definitely get some work done here, it is more focused on enjoying the taste of a good, Italian coffee in a calm and relaxed environment. The experience begins with the fact, that your Cappuccino gets served in an actual, appropriately sized ceramic cup. The owner takes his time to pull the perfect Espresso, the milk foam has exactly the right texture. Served with cookies and a cup of lemon water, the resulting Cappuccino is the best I've had in town. Cutest little coffee shop right under an AirBnB where I was staying for a "staycation." Owner is SO friendly and puts so much care and love into everything he makes. The menu isn't extensive, but the drinks are damn good. Normally I don't really care about "name brand" coffee drinks, but he uses exclusively Illy and Godiva, and it's REALLY good. Every drink comes with Biscoff cookies. Good price for coffee in an area of overpriced coffee shops.

Although the shop is on the smaller side, it was very quiet and peaceful. Good light during the day, and big tables to spread out work.

Definitely will be coming back here in my remaining...
