Macho Tacos 瑪丘墨式餅舖 (延吉 Yanji) — Restaurant in Da'an District

Tucked away on an alley just off of the main road, Macho Tacos is unlike any competitors in the area. I first saw their burrito on TikTok, and knew I had to come give the restaurant a taste. I am hesitant about eating Latin food in Asia, because I am foreign so usually I am left disappointed by the poor rendition. However, Macho Tacos is a flavorful exception. Me and a Taiwanese came last night for pickup, and were both very delighted by the meal. We ordered the 3 piece fish taco meal with soft corn tortilla, a tofu quesadilla, and a side of guacamole. 8.7/ 10- Tofu Quesadilla. So damn good! The flavor and tofu/ cheese ratio were perfect. I added a bit of lime juice for more fresh flavor. Tofu quesadilla isn’t exactly traditional, you wouldn’t find this in Mexico, but I loved this Taiwanese special style quesadilla regardless! 9.7/10- 3 piece Fish Tacos- The fish tacos on corn tortillas were exactly like something you would find in Mexico! It was all the perfect ingredients- the fried white fish, cabbage, pico de gallo, and a cream sauce. There is a small piece of lime on the side to squeeze onto each taco for that extra flavor and freshness. MUST ORDER- Guacamole. We got a side of guacamole to add to the tacos and dip the quesadilla in. This extra flavor is really what the meal needed to make it the perfect flavor tapestry. In all, we were both full and happy after this dinner. We will definitely come back soon to try more things...

True mexican comfort food. Been having a craving for fresh mex since leaving LA. Affordable and huge portions! Clean and lots of seating inside which I didn't expect.

Food was greasier than I expected but the fresh and spicy salsa was so authentic so it made up for it. Definitely come here for their rice bowl and add guacamole, corn + cheese to it! Absolutely delicious. Their winner of the menu and a great bargain on price.

I tried their soft shell fish taco and found it to be so heavily battered and not good. It was a tiny tiny piece of fish for 80 NT dollars lol. However their beef crunchy hard shell tacos look like a much better choice

I’ve passed by this place many times and thought I would finally give it a try. Cannot really comment on the food since I don’t eat Mexican food that often. However, I thought the beef soft shell taco ($80) I ordered was subpar. The beef chunks were tough, and the taco itself didn’t taste as good as the homemade tacos that I’ve had before. The California fries with chicken ($305) was pretty flavourful, but it was honestly too expensive for what it was. You’re better off ordering the Macho salad for a more well balanced meal. The service was also lacking (guy behind the counter was expressionless when taking my order), and I didn’t like how they only had the option of disposable utensils for dining in. Lastly, the ventilation in the kitchen must be very poor, as I left with the smell of food/grease in my hair and clothes. Not cool.
