Ombré — Restaurant in Da'an District

As soon as you walk in, you’ll notice the dining space is pretty cramped unless you choose to sit inside but the kitchen smoke gets pretty bad there. They need to improve on their kitchen ventilation to provide a better dining experience. Food portion and taste is average compared to the pricing. I expected more. The worst part of my dining experience was when it came time to pay. It was only then that the store clerk mentioned that they can only accept cash or Line Pay due to their credit card machine being down. This should have been the first thing you tell customers when you greet them. I hope this doesn’t happen a lot at this restaurant and it wasn’t some poor excuse. Overall, I wouldn’t recommend. Out on a limb in the Xinyi Anhe area I searched for brunch places near me and this was the 3rd place I looked at from outside and ended up choosing to eat.

I had the chicken pesto cheese brunch. It came with veggies, scrambled eggs, bread and a little panna cotta on the side. Other than an unfortunate choice to add truffle to the eggs (personally not a fan) the food was very good. Not exceptional but better than average. I’d come back and try other dishes for sure.

The staff did their best with my lack of Chinese language, and I had no problems ordering.

They have more seats here than initially obvious from outside and it’s not in a high traffic area so I think most could get a seat during lunch, like I did...

Food was pretty good, or at least the little bit we got to eat

The restaurant is pet friendly however the people that brought their pets to the restaurant kept allowing their dogs to walk around to other guests (regardless of the other guests liked it or not). The dogs also kept on shacking which let to a lot of dog hair flying all over our food and drinks.

I hope that the restaurant staff could pay a little more attention to animals and pets that come into the restaurant and the hygiene of the restaurant.
